Good ole housing

Many people agree that the housing system currently is trash. My biggest issue with it, aside from the ridiculous RNG timer coupled with the ridiculous RNG chance of any one person grabbing said house, is how Square Enix thinks it's completely okay to hold seasonal events with housing items as rewards.

If you're not going to meet the demand or come up with a better system for players to acquire housing that doesn't require them to be at a plot clicking and spamming for so many hours, then why add these items into events?

Now I know what you're thinking: "Oh but we have apartments!" - except, these apartments aren't capable of nearly as much fun and neat things as you would be capable of with a house. Also, some seasonal items this year that have been offered are also outdoor furnishings. Outdoor furnishings not acquired through seasonal events but instead are craft-able are also unavailable to those who own an apartment. I hope we're starting to see the bigger picture now.

My point is: fix the system. That, or stop holding seasonal event rewards that are mostly housing items. Getting tired of the posters, the food and all the outdoor items they released this year to only be able to use in an apartment. Also, it's blatantly wrong, in my opinion, to charge people for past items from seasonal events that are housing items when most people have no place to be putting those seasonal items if not in their apartment storage ( very few slots to use up there, probably get a year's worth of storage and two if you have an apartment strictly for holding the seasonal items ) or retainers. As most people have said, though, SE only listens to the almighty dollar, so only time will tell if they actually want to fix their horrible housing system or let it stay as is.

I have a house. Unhelpful reply is unhelpful. The direct issue of this forum post is a) the crappy housing system which shouldn't be JUST for people like me who have a house and can freely relocate and b) the housing items that are continuously produced every year at each seasonal event which suck for the people who either can't use them or can only use them in apartments.

Move along.

Sorry, but it's an incredibly helpful post and you should share it with anyone who's suffering from Square Enix giving them free furniture.

No one forces people to buy the furnishings on Mogstation so I don’t get what your issue is with them being offered on there. I on the other hand am grateful - I was able to get cherry blossom trees and NOT pay tens of million of gil for them. I also got past Christmas decor.

While the housing system could use improvement it is LOADS better than the system before where people were holding plots hostage and asking exorbitant prices for them or them being held by those no longer playing the game. The placard system you hate so much (I hate the clicking game too btw and have lost a couple) enabled me to get two houses, and I’ll take that over never having a shot at all.

You don't even need to move servers for a free housing area.
Apartments and FC rooms are aplenty.

I mean you could try another server, if housing is that big of an issue. There's apartments, otherwise. It is a bad system, but you're not exactly making any suggestions other than demanding they fix it.

If they stop making seasonal themed food/housing items then they'll just put them in to the mogstation instead and we won't get anything for playing the game. do you really want that?
