Tank looking to raid Eden Savage: What do I need to know?

Have eyed savage warily for a while now, but after discovering you can only get the augmented Deepshadow Weapon with materiel that costs E3S clear items, I feel pressed to jump into it, as I'm hoping to rock a metallic-gold painted Deepshadow set that I'm already on my way to completing.

What's my best shot? Any tips and tricks to share? Have watched MTQcapture's guides for each tier at least once, but those only do so much compared to actual experience, especially since they don't focus on specific roles. Only prior Savage experience is recently managing to beat o8s unsynced, after many attempts to find a solid enough party to weather it.

Forming or joining a static is usually the best way. If you are unable to join any for whatever reason (work shifts or something), PF is your only option though. Join or create a learning party and just have a shot at it. Everyone started from 0 once and it will certainly be a hassle if you do it entirely by PF but thats the way.

It might be a bit harder to find a static currently as we are at the end of a savage cycle (loot unlock coming next week iirc) so many people are already burnt out regarding this tier. But you might form/join a static for the next tier that will drop early next year and if they are willing you could clear the current tier first to get used to the generall savage-flair.

Hi! As far as looking to raid Eden Savage, as already mentioned by person said before me, looking for a static is probably your best bet. The loot lockout for Eden savage will be released this coming Tuesday which means you will be able to purchase the Solvent weapon upgrade using your manufactured coin obtained from "The Copied Factory" Alliance raid and exchanged at the NPC in Eulmore. There are sometimes learning parties up in the party finder and you're more than welcome to join in and learn the fights. Just remember to have patience and have fun. The fights aren't hard, once you know the mechanics, it's soothe sailing from there. Hope this helps.

The latest patch has added the ability to buy the Deepshadow Solvent with Manufactured Coins from Copied Factory! Hopefully that doesn't deter you from trying to raid, though. While it can be intimidating or frustrating, it's also very fun and rewarding.

    1. Bring consumables - food/potions. When learning a fight, if it's cost prohibitive to use pots when you clearly know you aren't ready to clear, I would use older tier pots just so you get in the rythm of when they come off cooldown. They will still need to be the same quality (HQ/NQ) however or the timers will be different.

2.Going off of your only savage parse on fflogs, I would HIGHLY advise spending time on the SSS dummies and practicing both your opener and rotation. Get to a point where you don't have to actively think about your next button press. This will let you focus more on mechanics and what the fight is asking of you

Looking at your button presses currently, you used Fell Cleave only 9 times, where you would expect around 45 uses in a similar time span, similarly there were no uses at all of upheaval or onslaught during the entire encounter. The log also shows you were capped on resources for large segments of the fight. It might be helpful to look at a guide to see how to best get the most out of your class. There are some decent gearing, opener, and rotation guides on The Balance discord and they are kept current.

I'm not pointing out any of this to belittle you, but showing where to improve.

Without even looking at the specifics of what Casualty has stated, I think having an open attitude towards improving is critical to raiding. Most raid groups would rather have a grey parse tank who listens, asks questions, and wants to actively better themselves, than a green or blue parse player who doesn't contribute to group discussion or their own self-improvement. I've seen grey parse players who are only grey parse because they are new to raiding, after exercising that attitude and getting practice in, their numbers improved dramatically, and raiders know that.
