Involuntary Server Transfers?

Question.

If someone was transferred to a different server to which they did not intend, will SE allow them to return to the server of their choice?

A few of us have been going through our friend Lists and LS' and noticing players/friends are missing. Now it is possible they transferred and told no one, however that is un-likely.

My assumption would be for whatever reason (inactivity?) they were transferred to another world. With that being said, if they were transferred AGAINST their will, will SE help bring them back?

I noticed some my friends are still on the old server on loadstone, some in the new one. Probably they are still in the transfer limbo? Mmh.

If they were inactive their default world would be the same as yours. That being said I think they are still in the process of updating lodestone and such. I was still on Cornelia up until 5mins ago it said Durandal.

Dunno about forced transfers. But like a few people they might have messed up the transfer process and they ended up on another world. Or maybe was forced.. who knows but I dont think theres a way to turn back regardless

It's very likely. You either choose a server or you don't, SE didn't force anyone off.

So you want to know what to do if someone is transfered against their will because you think some of your friends might have because you cant find them?

No one has spoken out as such yet, so obviously your just stirring the pot a bit with this one.

One of these people I know from FFXI Sylph... we've been in-game friends for 6 years now... I would hope he would have told me if he was jumping servers. >.>

Unless they're your real life friends there's always the possibility they didn't feel exactly the same way, as Vedis basically stated.

You don't even need to touch the application if you had no intention of moving.

Putting it on SE instead of their own decision to bail would avoid alot of the emo 'Omg I thought we were friends for life!' messages.
