    Lagging, DCing in Instanced Content

    Hello there,

As the thread title suggests, I've been experiencing some rather nasty lag issue in instanced content, such as the Copied Factory. Lag spikes vary from <1 1 second spikes, to as long as 10+ seconds of everything standing still. As of now, I'm fairly certain the issue isn't on my end, seeing as how this is also happening to my fiance, who uses the the same router with a Ethernet connection, just like I do. Also, just to help speed this along, here's what I've tried so far to resolve this issue:

-Restarting PC, after restart, lagging in instances still occurred
-Restarting Router, same as above, no luck.
    -Updating graphics card. See above.

As far as I know, this started happening after the latest hotfix was downloaded and applied.

    Thank you for your time.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the FInal Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums

Are you connected directly to the router or are you using WiFi? Do you experience connections issues outside instances?

Also having this issue with lag bumps

I too start having this issue since the last patch. While doing instances, out doing fates, even sometimes in housing areas. I can move and everything around me sits in one area. then from anywheres from 1 - 20 seconds area everything catches up.

I have tried updating all drivers on my computer including video card, i have tried closing down all other programs other then FF14. Only thing i have not tried is uninstalling the game and reinstalling it to see if that helps.

    Having same issue

I am using a direct connection. My ping times have been under 50 with 0 lost packets at the time the lagging occurs. I have a gigabit fiber connection running to my house and there is little to no other network utilization when the lagging occurs.

The other descriptions match my experience. Other players freeze for 1-20 seconds, then rush around doing stuff, then freeze again. If I queue up enough commands I get kicked from the server when they finally attempt to resolve.

This happens to me and my wife, two different machine with two sets of hardware, and is most noticeable in instances. Both machines have latest drivers installed.

It started with the patch this week, and had never happened prior to that. Both machines started having it occur the same day.

After experimenting and investigating today it appears that a Verizon / MCI node between my ISP and the data center is having an issue. I tried PureVPN out and things are solid. Go back to my normal route and super laggy, despite good ping.
