Game will not launch - Directx 11 error popup

My game will not launch, I'm getting an error window with some Japanese I'm assuming is the error description then the below information in the popup.

I've tried re-installing all client files, I've updated graphic driver to the latest.

The only thing I've recently done to my computer is I recently did a fresh install of my OS.

I have no problems launching any other games I play just this one.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

How long have you been experiencing this issue? Are there any programs or overlays running in the background? Does the game crash if those programs are disabled? You mentioned you reinstalled the client, was it reinstalled on the C drive?

Sorry it took so long to respond, apparently if you haven't logged into the game in two weeks you are not allowed to post on the forums. Seems kind of a dumb policy since I'm still paying a subscription. I had to install directx 9.0c so I could log into the game then it took 2 days for the forums to recognize I had actually logged in.

To answer your previous questions. I had not played for about 5 days, then patch 5.1 deployed, then I started getting the errors when trying to launch the game. The only thing running in the background is my anti-virus software. When I re-installed the client, I installed it to the same location it was before on a ssd i put my games on, not the C drive.

Since my last post I've also tried doing a clean boot and re-installing my graphic drivers to no avail.

I've run the System File Checker utility to also check for any installation issues that may have occurred during my Windows installation, it came back clean as well, no issues.

Could you try changing the compatibility mode? To change compatibility mode, right click on the exe file (Default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe), right click it and select ‘Properties.’ Select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and select Windows 7. Additionally, could you try reintalling the game on the C drive?
