    [Suggestion] Shields - Block - Paladins.

    Would it be possible to have shields revised so that instead of giving a flat "meaningless" number it would actually show the percentage of damage mitigated and the chance at which block is likely to occur.

    For example:-

    Ul'dahn Hoplon
    Block: 107
    Blockrate: 131

    Ul'dahn Hoplon Revised
    Mitigation 40% (damage received is reduced by 40% whilst blocking)
    Auto block rating 13%

    This would solve some of the issue with Warriors being favoured over Paladins.

    In the example above a Paladin with the same Defence as a Warrior taking a hit from Coincounter with the above shielded equipped would take almost half as much damage when blocking.

    Using moves such as Outmanoeuvre and Aegis Boon will now have more meaning during bosses that hit hard.

    Seeing as Paladin/Gladiator isn't my main class maybe others would like to give their suggestion on this.

    The problem lies with Dlvl vs. Blockrate. Outmaneuver adds a bonus to blockrate, but against any serious enemy you still won't block even with that active. Aegis Boon is the only guaranteed block Pld got (before this latest update to divine veil?), which limited wardrum/phalanx/spirits usage. Pld picked up a second enmity + combo now, too. The love for warrior comes because Pld lacks(lacked?) proper damage mitigation and because warrior, obviously, carries a higher DPS and higher HP pool.

    With the new revamps on Pld timers/abilities I'm excited to play. It'll be among the first things I do when i log on again to go test the changes. I'm really hoping it will cement Pld a spot as main tank on single big mobs. (Chimera, Coincounter, Batraal who arguably isn't that bad, and future content bosses) We can run a dungeon on warrior to tank piles of smaller things and swap to Pld before the boss at the sacrifice of Hallowed Ground.

    People might enjoy %'s instead of numbers, idk, but i don't think that's why there was/is such a large disperity between warrior and paladin tanks.

    Or you'd see how pathetic the stats really are and everyone would just play warrior anyway.

    Sorry, it's the pessimist in me. :P But I do support your idea that it'd be nice to see exactly how much the numbers convert to percentages.

    Yea I'm not just asking to convert the numbers to percentage, I want them to buff shields also so that Paladins take less damage.

    I think the changes to the skills in the latest patch is a step in the right direction but still not where it needs to be. (of course this is without seeing the changes for myself)

    I think Paladins should have a huge defensive advantage over warriors since their mechanics are much different. Warrior = high damage tank, Paladin = low damage, but high mitigation tank. Let's hope the changes are enough but I'm not optimistic.
