Screen goes black during game and when I try to play.

The game would make a noise and then go black for a few minutes and I would only hear the music in the background. No way to turn it off without powering off my PC. Installed new drivers and it has gotten worse to the point where clicking play on the launcher now turns the screen black. The main monitor will say no signal and the green light on the bottom of the monitor will turn orange the second monitor will be a grey screen. This only happens with FF14. I'm playing the game through steam.

Update: I restored the game to it's original settings and the game was able to run in 720p for a good hour or so. As soon as I switched the resolution back to 1080p like I used to have it. The game went to a black screen with game audio in the background.

Does this happen when the size of the game screen is changed? Does the issue occur when Final Fantasy XIV is run in windowed or borderless fullscreen? Could you also provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

The issue first happened randomly on Tuesday when I had the game in fullscreen at 1080p. Then it would happen all day yesterday whenever I would switch between directx options. The issue became worse after I upgraded to the latest NVidia Drivers which came out on November 4th. Now the issue also happens whenever I try to open other demanding games like Resident Evil 2. Last night when I had it in 720p windowed it did the same thing when I was trying to adjust my hotbar HUD.
