Mine started off as a directX11 error, and wouldn't even let me get past the login screen when using windows 7, so I swapped over to windows 10 and now I can login and play for a good bit of time, and I don't even have lag and the game runs smoothly. But now I get hit with error DC's that's giving me a list of files and unexpected error blah blah.
This actually makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only person with this issue, cuz I've had my IT friend try EVERYTHING and tweak everything to stop the DC's but nothing works. I've seen a similar issue where people reinstall and it fixes it.
I personally waited until after the patch, and reinstalled thinking "Maybe it's because I had corrupted files when using windows 7 so I'll reinstall now that I have win10" but nope no fix there either.
Please let support see this and help us out </3
Edit: It really is quite disheartening, I DC so much in the new raid I don't even want to play, and yesterday I dc'd at the final boss and it skipped my loot roll </3

Bumping because I’m seeing more and more people with this issue!
I’ve paid for a sub even tho I haven’t had a PC to save my FC, and I finally return to not being able to play due to an error in game!
I have so much catching up to do! Please hurry and find the issue team!

So an update. My PC was still having the DX 11 issues but was also having some other issues causing BSoDs. I looked into the information and did some research into my BSOD errors and they all seemed to relate to driver failures, yet all of mine were great and not stated to have issues.

So in my stupidity of time understanding decided to do a chkdsk repair about a week ago because I thought it wouldn't be too bad. The process took about 2 hours ( I even made it to raid on time too) and my C drive was completely repaired. Ever since I did that I have experienced ZERO blue screens and ZERO DX11 crashes.

I remember the mods on here responded to someone who specifically had an issue with the C drive (as XIV needs to be downloaded on it). So I figure if someone has had an issue of their DX crashing or their comp getting BSOD, or something in the C drive being corrupted causing the issues that may be your fix.

If I have an issue I'll report back but I haven't had any so far so it may be your ticket.

EDIT: I had the issue come back, reported in a split thread about it, but I also decided to go into my BIOS, since many people were stating the DX11 issue can be tied to overclocking. My computer was in a manual overclock so I decided to swap it back to auto and so far throughout the day I haven't experienced a crash or anything of the like.

I've also had DX11 crashes quite frequently ever since upgrading to a 5700 XT.

The game will usually black screen while the music continues, but sometimes it will crash to desktop with a general DX11 error, or multiple lovely DX11 errors.

I've tried many things, but nothing helps:
    - Clean install Windows 10
    - Clean install of FFXIV
    - sfc /scannow (repair system files)
    - Reinstall Radeon drivers
    - Install latest Radeon drivers
    - DDU all drivers and reinstall GPU drivers...
    - Revert to last known "good" driver which was 19.10.2 for me, on my previous GPU (R9 Fury)
    - Restart graphics driver with Win+Ctl+Shift+B

Basically nothing helps, although 19.10.2 seems to give me the least number of crashes.

It's also worth noting that these crashes started with the new GPU, so It's most likely related to that/drivers.

It's also worth noting that the black screen crash is now a "known issue" with the Radeon driver team. See:
    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/re...ad-win-19-11-2

My system specs are very high with a very beefy PSU, NVMe, 8 core 3800X CPU, Windows 10 Pro 1909, 32GB RAM, etc. so I'm simply hoping that this is a driver issue that will get ironed out in the December driver roll-up.

    I will post updates.

Just wanted to chime in to recommend the fix that I used which was simply deleting the ex3 folder in my FINAL FANTASY XIV Online > game > sqpack folder then running the launcher which forced it to redownload all the Shadowbringers content. I did this multiple times and each time I did it different things were broken and caused an immediate crash (the cutscenes for the Ishgardian Restoration are still bugged on my current version but luckily I own a PS4 so I was just able to go on there and watch them) but I've finally found a stable enough version that lets me play all the content I want to. PvP and hunts are still a bit sketchy with so many players around but using the DX9 version which seems to be more stable in general avoids the crashes. So I technically still have the problem but I've managed to find ways to work around it. SE still needs to fix their game.

You can read a more detailed version of the fix I just talked about and all my technical issues here.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

The Direct X 11 errors can be caused by variety of reasons. No matter the cause however, the game will be forced to closed because of the crash. The forced closed could be from programs or overlays that may interfere with the game. As we are only able to offer limited trouble shooting, it is difficult to determine the exact reason of the crash.

If you are experiencing these issues with the game, please try the troubleshooting listed here: https://support.na.square-enix.com/f...la=1&kid=67507

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
