Can I just add... The majority of Final Fantasy character gear, such as Squall's, Zidane's, Yuna's, etc. can be equipped by any job? They want fans of the series to be able to recognize other players' jobs at a glance, but this Yuna Cosplayer over here is in her Summoner Garb as a Dark Knight. I didn't know Cloud Strife was a White Mage.
Meanwhile the cast of FFXII one of the 3 mainline Final Fantasies where each character can literally be any job you want them to and use any weapon, are all role locked? And Fran is Viera locked, which like, really wasn't a fan of making a named character's outfit default race gear, but that's another issue.
Probably the only restriction that still makes sense is the Job Artifact gear, because those were designed to be iconic for each one of them. But the rest... just make everything "All Classes" when it comes to just glamouring.
It sucks when that favorite Fending chestpiece of yours has an ugly color scheme, but Maiming gets the same but with a better dyeing pattern.
Sucks to be a Dancer or Reaper and 90% of the gear of your armor class won't really suit your job's fantasy.
Sucks not being able to use all of the YoRHa's items freely when they visually won't belong of any specific armor group
If I have a lv 90 warr chad enough to wear dangerous armor with spikes, I am strong enough to wear it when I play as whm. My job doesnt change my character. By leveling other classes to 90 you should unlock the glams universally. But yeah I agree only the armor.
I don‘t like 95% of the gear sets we get for healer, so yes yes come on, free us from these restriction. I just finally want to be able to look cool as a healer.
I've added some of OP's points to my thread about removing glam restrictions (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...ther-jobs-sets) It's a damn shame we haven't heard anything about this since 2019.
