How to "add" about twice as many hairstyles:

They could probably save space by having a single hairstyle have sub options with the variations. These could be invert options, going short, mid, long length, bangs/no bangs etc. As it stands now even the slightest mod counts a whole other hairstyle.

The customization options are obviously crazy outdated and would probably need to be rebuilt from the ground up. Not sure if that will happen in the lifetime of FFXIV but they definitely can release more hairstyles to accommodate, and slight mods are very easy to implement.

This. We would need only for the slightest alterations to existing hairstyles to make some really great options for all characters and genders. As much as i dislike the idea of unlocking all races hair options, it is far past time to do so.

Couldn't they use the same program like we have for skyrim and fallout where converts bodys and gear to fit certain type of body. It load up all the gear hair at once and convert them.

I believe they had something similar in 1.0 but it was dropped for ARR onward because of technical limitations with the PS3.

Now I also get to sulk that other races probably won't get heels anywhere close to the stilettos Viera get.

I just wish the long hairs don't clip on certain type of clothes. Especially, the viera like one of her hairstyle just clips to her cheast, when she looks down during a cutscene, it just breaks the immersion. I still feel there is alot of work for SE to make them fully functional and add the new hairstyle to them as well.
Also, the hair needs an upgrade. They are slightly pixelated.

I haven't seen that style before. I'd assume it's coming in 5.2.

Just mirroring the asymmetrical ones would make for a pile of new hairstyles.

Or a switch like they do with facepaint.
