Personally I think the person you're replying to made a much kinder and more thoughtful post, albeit critical, than your own reply to him. Between him and you, if there were to be one person I would have to label as problematic, it would be you. That's extremely insensitive, and no one cares if you had a dyslexic friend and that you think that makes you immune to consequences. I'm dyslexic as well, though it comes around more with reading things incorrectly instead of typing things wrong, though that still happens on occasion.
Did you know that copy-paste exists? Did you know spellcheck exists? Did you know autocorrect exists? Did you know that some words are easier for some people than others? I can type pretty complex things as well, but as soon as I have to enter a code for DLC or something I really struggle because I mix up letters and numbers. Everyone who has dyslexia experiences it differently, and if you're actually sitting here accusing the OP of faking it because they spelled some more complicated words correctly, I have a huge problem with that. Stop acting like such a know-it-all. It's pretty damn rude to actually tell someone you think they're making up the conditions they have. Get over yourself.
As someone who has worked for gaming support in the past for another company, I can't tell you how many times I've heard the dyslexia excuse (over a 4 year period) of calls/chat support engagements. And I couldn't agree more. I'm sure there ARE people with dyslexia (like the OP), but we had to treat everyone the same and denied name changes too. You can't tell who is and who isn't doing things to scam companies anymore. Every user is different, but all it takes is a few bad apples to make things change or stick to the guns of the company standard policies. This is something that would probably step on more toes than you think. There's a lot of people who make basic mistakes, and on the internet where anyone can be faceless, how many people do you think would use the dyslexia card to change their name? There's a lot of people who will/do use disabilities as a way to get an easier treatment on something, or even free.
Online, how are you gonna be able to confirm with a big busy corporation that you have dyslexia?
If they put a rule for something like that in, how many people do you think might try to say they have it just to get something free?
People need to be held accountable for whatever they do, even if it was a mistake. I have a friend who changed his name in game for RP reasons, but had to change it a second time because he forgot an apostrophe in his character's last name. Everyone has to be treated at the exact same level with no one getting special treatment.
I have multiple disabilities, that I won't delve into here, and I don't want to be treated like some special case, like you said, I didn't choose for my mind to be the way it is. But you're a person, so you'll get treated normally like everyone else does.
