MEMOIRS OF ADVENTURE CREATIVE WRITING CONTEST (THE “PROMOTION”) OFFICIAL RULES

KEY RULES

A. Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. Please review the Additional Rules at the following URL:B. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):
  • The fifty (50) states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
  • Canada (excluding Quebec).
C. Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 13 years of age or older at the date and time of entry.

D. Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between Monday, September 2, 2019 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and Monday, September 16, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. PDT (the “Entry Period”).

E. Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period:

Step One:
  • Draft a creative writing that recounts your personal favorite or fondest memory of playing Final Fantasy XIV (the “Narrative”).
  • Each entry (“Entry”), which includes the Narrative and your selection from the available in-game prizes (as discussed in Step Two below), cannot exceed the Three Thousand (3,000) character limit of the post.
  • Screenshots or illustrations may be included with your entry, but they are optional and not required. Screenshots or illustrations will have no bearing on the judging. No more than four (4) total optional screenshots or illustrations may be included. Please review this guide showcasing how to upload images to Lodestone to post on the forum.
Step Two:
  • Submit your entry in the OFFICIAL ENTRY THREAD on the Final Fantasy XIV forums. and include the following information in your forum post:
  • Your entry must include your selection from the available in-game prizes:
  • Gaelicap
  • Noble Barding
  • Mandragora Choker
  • Ahriman Choker
  • Bluebird Earring
  • Scarf of Wondrous Wit
  • Please make sure that the character on your Final Fantasy XIV forum handle is set to the character that you want to receive the prize, in the event you are chosen as a winner.
Rules and Guidelines:
You must abide by the following rules and guidelines when creating and submitting your entry:
  • You must not include any additional personal information in your Entry.
  • Entries may not be edited after submission.
  • One (1) Entry per person. If multiple Entries submitted by the same entrant are posted, only the first Entry submitted will be considered.
F. Winner Selection: The Sponsor (listed below), or Sponsor’s designee, shall select fifty (50) winners from among all entries using the following methodology:
The Sponsor’s Community team will judge the Entries based on the following criteria:
  • Quality of the Narrative
  • Creativity of the Narrative
  • Originality of the Narrative
G. Prize(s):
Each winner shall receive one (1) of the following virtual prizes of their choosing:
  • One (1) Gaelicap (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
  • One (1) Noble Barding (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
  • One (1) Mandragora Choker (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
  • One (1) Ahriman Choker (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
  • One (1) Bluebird Earring (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
  • One (1) Scarf of Wondrous Wit (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value)
In-game prizes will be delivered to the character on the winner’s relevant Final Fantasy XIV official forum handle. You can confirm your character information under the Settings > Edit Character menu.

H. Winner Notification: Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winner(s) by or about September 27, 2019 via in-game Moogle mail and/or forum post. The aforementioned notification post shall appear, if at all, within this Promotions forum category of the Final Fantasy XIV forums.

I. Sponsor: The sponsor of this Promotion is Square Enix, Inc.

J. Other Details: Prizes will be distributed via the in-game Moogle delivery service (which may be subject to change at our discretion). Please note that this is a virtual prize with no monetary value and cannot be sold or transferred.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS PROMOTION. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. YOU MUST HAVE LEGALLY ACQUIRED ACCESS TO FINAL FANTASY XIV PRIOR TO THE LAUNCH OF THE PROMOTION.
