    Suggestions for Trust system

    Currently people are complaining about Trust system after 5.0 MSQ and it is understandable why it is a issue.

    1) Deleveling the trust has made people see it as a loss of Progress even though 5.0 MSQ was only the Demo version of the Trust and Full version is unlocked after compelting 5.0.

    2) Players can't use Trust for all MSQ Story dungeons in Post-5.0 because their leveling takes longer than the player's leveling to progress thus forcing players to constantly switch between different Jobs to keep a Balance of exp again for their Trust with their Character.

    3) The Trust EXP gain is far slower than our character's EXP gain in Post-5.0.

    4) MSQ Dungeons are currently the ONLY means to gain EXP for Trust Companions.

    5) Trust is introduced to HELP Players level in MSQ Story dungeons and not for us to help them level up in MSQ Story Dungeons.

    6) There is hardly any reward to get them into lvl 80 unless players wish to have a NPC group to help level their alt jobs or the title achievement.

    To resolve some of these issues certain things I believe needs to be added for certain issues to be resolved despite that it is possible they are preparing these thing already for 5.1 to 5.5 contents.

    1) Allow Trust to also gain EXP from Enemy kills in Dungeons just like the Player with their Complete Dungeon EXP reward

    2) have a Alternate means to gain EXP for Trust outside of MSQ story dungeons. Even include complete Weekly challenges that provide EXP to all Trust Companions.

    3) Have something related to Trust Companion's levels such as Trust Companion Quests to provide a side content storyline that allows our WoL to get to know the characters a bit more during the time when they are just doing their own thing outside of MSQ events.

    4) If possible treat Trust level separate from character level so players can use Trust for all MSQ content. What the Trust Level can become is a "Trust bond" level to determine the level of "Trust" the characters have with our character that leads to them unlocking stronger skills (or upgrade some of their skills) and provide Passive Bonuses between WoL and that character when they are in the same team.

    Another suggestion: allow at least up to two or three party members to use the trust rather than it only be solo.


    A friend of mine and I have alt chars that we play together. We don't have an FC, no friends in that world, etc., and my char mains BLU. We were looking forward to dungeoning together with our favourite allies accompanying us to fill in the blank spots.

    Main suggestion: Make XP gain worthwhile OR increase drop rates with TRUST rather than reducing it. You're penalizing players by twice the amount by not only reducing item drops using TRUST but also telling them that leveling is very, very, very slow. I know they want to encourage people to use it as a last resort but if that's the case, increase the freakin XP gain.

    EDIT: There's no good reason to level TRUST NPCs since there's no actual beneficial reward for doing so other than being able to use them in higher and higher dungeons which is not a reward in itself.

    I think that the Trusts shouldn't have ever been de-leveled in the first place. They kept saying we could use them to practice jobs, rotations and mechanics etc and having them de-level completely makes that impossible. Have some other way to grind or power them up could be fun, but to lock a player out of a dungeon they may want to practice in because they need to grind their trusts is silly. It makes me wonder why they undercut one of its best uses.

    Currently there are a few rewards for max leveling all of them being a Achievement, title, and alternate costumes for the Trust characters (Pre-Shadowbringer outfits).

    I am assuming a lot more rewards will be added later related to Trust levels but ya I believe Trust levels should have been separated from their character levels and acted more as a Friendship/Bond/Trust system with higher Trust level rewarding the player with more bonuses when having them in the group and other contents such as Trust Companion quest for each of the Trust companions and/or etc.

    That way players can use them for any MSQ story dungeon while the trust level improves over time as they are used.

    Of course people will try to cheese it by playing the lvl 79 and 80 MSQ dungeons only for the Higher EXP rewards it gives but the Trust System was meant to help players level up and progress in MSQ Dungeons. Not for players to help the Trust Companions level up.

    Give all the trusts xp when you complete a dungeon and not just the 3 you take with you.

    why trust need levels? make trust the same lvl as the character and be done with it.

    thats how it works in FFXI and if down the road we get more trusts , having to level them is gonna feel bad.

    That is why I suggested to have Trust levels to be separate from their character levels so they can be used for all level MSQ dungeon content.

    Trust levels being treated as the Friendship/Bond system levels would fit much better considering SE already plans for rewards to be tied to their levels such as the Alternate costumes at Max Trust level and the title with achievements. Not to mention possible future rewards.

    God when I saw what happened to the Trust NPC after finishing the MSQ I dreaded. Seriously what were they thinking? It would take 6 runs on the first dungeon alone to level up 3 Trust one level. Not fun at all.

    I mean it's nice to gain EXP for my other classes, but seriously the amount of EXP to gain for each of them AND the number of them... ugh. I hate super grinds.

    Also we lose two Trust NPCs so I can not longer use Lyna or the Crystal Exarch for the first dungeon meaning I lose out on some of the Story Dungeon quips the NPCs has. Along with another certain NPC, though I don't know if it will be the same if you use that NPC's updated version for past dungeon for the same quips.

    Unless there's an achievement or something I feel like finishing the MSQ just neutered the Trust System then helped it.

    There is with a Title and Alternate Outfits for Trust as well if you max all of them being their Pre-Shadowbringer outfits.
