Hello,
As you already know, the party list now indicates HP increases granted by barriers. Which is great news !
However, I find the current indication poorly made and messy, so I want to know what you guys think about it.
The problem here is the indicated barrier overwrites the party member's name whilst their HP is full. That looks like a bug, but apparently that's the feature.
Did you even notice the WAR had a barrier ? It took me a few seconds to realise it. It's UNCLEAR (and kind of ugly to be honest).
I understand why SE chose to simply not put the barrier indicator at the beginning of the HP bar : if your barrier exceeds your HP, you won't see your real HP anymore. But their current way to solve this problem isn't the best, that is overwriting the player's name is not the solution in my opinion.
So here are the 2 alternatives I want to share, maybe it's a good idea, maybe not, let me know your thoughts about it.
This first one, the most obvious to me, is to separate HP and the Barrier bar. Regardless if your HP is full or not, the amount of Barrier will always show up on the Barrier bar without overwriting the player's name.
The second method is to put the Barrier bar inside the HP bar, while making the Barrier bar slightly smaller in proportions in regards of HP bar, so we are still able to see the player's HP when the Barrier exceeds maximum HP (see BLM).
Excuse my broken Paint skills, I did my best so you guys can have a better idea of my alternatives.
I know that's not really a big problem, this feature is really great and I'm glad SE added it to the game. But great doesn't mean perfect and in this case I think some simple changes can improve the feature a lot !
