Mobile Square Enix Authenticator Token deactivates when Google Fi changes networks.

Phones with Google Fi plans constantly have their Software Auth Token disabled.

Google Fi automatically changes between carriers based on whichever one has the best signal and the Authenticator will become decoupled every time it switches.

This is a very frustrating bug that seems like it should be an easy fix. There are posts in this forum going back to 2016 : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-unregistering

And a more recent (year-old) reddit post that has a possible solution: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...ject_fi_users/

Can we please have this fixed? Apparently you used to be able to fix it by disallowing "Phone" permission on Android, but then newer versions of the authenticator forced you to have phone permissions on before it will work.

The only current workaround is to open the authenticator, allow phone permissions, input your code, then go to the app's permissions to disable phone access again until the next time you need it. If you ever forget to disable phone permissions, you better have your emergency removal password handy and 5-10 minutes to emergency remove and re-add your token.
