Random Hard Crashing

Morning All!

So ive been having an issue with XIV Hard crashing to Desktop, and not displaying an error message at all.

This is just standing in limsa.

And before you ask, no, this does not happen in DX9 mode.

Memory dumps can be provided.

This error has persisted between reinstallations of windows, and the game.

Crash again, this time, it gave a message.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When did this start happening? Did anything update/change on your PC that coincides with this? Is there any pattern to the crashes? Does it only happen in certain areas or while doing certain actions?

There are a few things I want to suggest first if you haven't tried them yet:

-First, you can try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

-Make sure to disable any overlays that may be present (Geforce Experience, Discord Overlay, etc.)

-Do a clean reinstall of your Graphics card drivers. This will be an option if you manually install them.

These hard crashes started around October. No hardware or apparent software changes have been made. there is noi pattern, but for me, its ONLY happened while in limsa lominsa lower decks.

Clean boot makes no difference.

All Overlays are disabled already.

Multiple Clean installs have been done, and the issue persisted (Clean Installs were done with DDU)
