Well, the reason is that DRK has been designed around managing MP. That's always been their defining aspect is that they chug a bunch of MP but have several means to regain it quickly.

Meaning that instead of just blindly mashing on their rotations with infinite resources, DRK players have to actually be managing their MP and finding the best uses for it.

TP is being removed in Shadowbringers, so Unleash will not be costing TP.

Dark Passenger is oGCD.

Though, with the TP removal, expect DRK to be even more focused around expending and generating MP. Given that they'll no longer have their weaponskills that are using an essentially infinite supply of TP.

We'll have to wait and see I guess, likely will give some information at the JP Fan Fest about the changes to resources.

Though, their plethora of AoE skills actually gives them a strong AoE rotation. With some of their AoE skills actually being decent against single targets. For example a DA boosted Dark Passenger is a strong enmity generator. Salted Earth is free oGCD damage output as well as Blood generation.

Then of their 3 remaining AoE skills, 2 of them form the staple of their AoE rotation due to utilizing their 2 resources (Abyssal Drain and Quietus)

Leaving only Unleash as their vestigial skill as it is pretty much just outclassed by Abyssal Drain once you obtain it. As such, it could be traited into AD if not just outright replaced by it (Since having a 50 potency AoE is really not worth actually using for damage while leveling...)

All in all, DRK's AoE is in a pretty decent place as is. They have tools to work with, which is nice. As opposed to the other 2 Tanks which have just a single AoE damage skill to spam and secondary conditional AoE skills to use where possible (Circle of Scorn being used on CD and having use in ST rotations because it's free damage. Decimate/Steel Cyclone being usable only during Inner Release or if at full gauge with Infuriate available)
