I get the same issue on Siren, but not on my character on Omega.
It also means I can't select Send Tell when clicking on character names. As it does nothing when selected.

You also cannot invite people to parties by selecting them from the chat menu any more. I haven't tried inviting to linkshell or free company, but I assume it'll be the same for that. I didn't think they were related issues until I read this thread. Is it still working on other servers?

Indeed, can confirm.
Everyone (that's from Siren) has an odd = in front of the name, can't invite people through chat...

It appears in front of every name here, whether in linkshells, FC or Party. Super strange.

Sounds like some character in the script wasn't parsed correctly

I heard that, if you try to send them a /tell, apparently their server comes up as Jenova? And not Siren? O.o Haven’t tried it myself to see if it’s true or not, but that’s something I heard today.

Edit: Just tried it with someone in a PF.
All it says is “/tell @Jenova”

Chipping in from Siren, I also can't right click to tell or add people to party. Still works through friends list, FC list and LS lists. And everyone has the = sign before their name.

Yikes. I was just bothered by the = sign. I didn't realize it had so many other implications for people actually on the server. I hope you guys get a speedy resolution.
