    Gath ponders on "Master" crafting.

    Hello, friends. Gath is here to bring about an idea that could well work with the balancing of the economy. First of all Gath notices that there is too many of certain items crafted and being sold on the wards. Gath knows that these can be used for materia and the such.

    Well, after a lot of pondering about our market wards Gath has come up with a conclusion that would make being something actually mean being something. Hokay, Gath thinks a "Master Craft" specialization should be put into effect down the road.

    When they finally raise the level cap of classes, Gath and you all know the tedium that will come about with leveling them. In the long run there will be everybody with everything at max and it will make everybody the same, yet again. To have master crafts will change this.

    Say you have someone with every craft at 50 and they are pushed to choose ONE craft to take beyond 50, but once they hit 51 they cannot go back and cannot take any of the other crafts past 50. However, when they choose the craft to go beyond 50 it changes into a Master Craft...like CUL would change into Sous Chef or Master Chef.

    Recipes that go past 50 will be unique to the master crafts that none of the other master crafts can produce. Just like how the crafting system was in 11, it helped it so the economy would not be completely flooded with the same "good" items and make them something that is way too common.

    This is just something that Gath thought would help add uniqueness to inidividuals when it comes to their craft. Gath hopes that you, Gath's fans, will help Gath structure this into something of note, something that will get people preparing to do what they want. When they start a craft they may go "Hey, I think I want to be a master BSM and make weapons that gods themselves will be jealous of!

    The Vedis thinks Gath doesnt remember that SE already talked about crafting specialization and is now trying to claim it as his own idea.

    i dont think thatl ever change, what may change is you may have to choose a "specialization" in the future that will lock out certain recipes within a class or make certain ones easier and others harder(who knows)

    but i know a specialization of sorts was talked about with no details given as future plans for crafting


    we had a pretty huge thread about this a year ago im sure someone can go dig it out and link it if they want to

    yeah, we had a huge discussion on this somewhere between 6-12 months ago on here when the forums were newer and SE leaked some info about crafting specialization.

    most of us agree they probly wont ever cap the level you can earn in them(especialy since we dont level the same as other games where its a skill point, its actual physical levels we are earning with exp)

    im sure the thread is buried in one of these sections somewhere


    but in short, the idea i had was something along the lines of lets say goldsmithing....

    youd have specializations such as "weaponsmaster" or "armorsmith" or "jeweler" to choose from, and based on those 3 choices itd be like branching out what you could do. in turn, we would then be different when we were all at capped level based on what we specialized in, so you wouldnt just need that level 100 goldsmith, youdf need the goldsmith based on what you needed made.

    Yea any kind of specialisation is good with me.

    Master craftsman weapons and armour could be unique and be green named.

    Jinko's 1 gil is worth more than Gath !

    Any way that I can make my character unique from everyone else is always a plus for me. I would have no qualms about being able to only specialize in one crafting class at once. (While still being able to do most basic stuff on others).

    This game needs more ways to make everyones character unique, not only in a cosmetic way either.
