ARR Vistas reduced from 80 to 20?

I wanted to start looking for them today but was surprised that a lot of them aren't part of the sightseeing log anymore. Since when was the majority of the ARR vistas removed?

If I remember correctly, you have to do the first batch before this rest show up. My log for ARR still shows 80/80 complete.

Is that so? Okay, I will recheck that later then. Its just that I tried some vistas already, but the message "You arrived at a vista" never showed up - even with the correct time & weather settings. That's why I was somewhat confused...

If a vista is "available", you'll get the message regardless of whether conditions are currently right for it.

S'raha is correct - you need to complete entries 1-20 then (if I remember correctly) talk to Milith at Apkallu Falls to unlock the rest of the log.

Also keep in mind, for a lot of those older sightseeing locations the "vista" is ridiculously small. A step too far in the wrong direction and you wont see the message, even if youre essentially in the right place.

Or the ever infamous dance of "you've arrived at a vista!" "you stray too far from the vista"...
