FINAL FANTASY® XIV VALENTIONE’S DIALOGUE CONTEST (EU)

Hold on to your hearts folks because the FINAL FANTASY® XIV VALENTIONE’S DIALOGUE CONTEST has just arrived for our European players to enter! We managed to catch two brave Lalafells in action during one of their daring quests of (for?) love, but couldn’t quite make out what they were saying.

All you need to do to enter is write what you think these two bold adventurers said to each other and post your answer on the Contest Entries Thread. We will then choose the winners based on your clever use of wit and (appropriate!) humour. We have prizes up for grabs for one lucky Grand Prize winner and two runners-up, so get your thinking caps on!

Contest Overview:

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

· You must be in possession of an official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum Account to enter (i.e. entrants are required to have both an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account and Square Enix account)
· Entry is limited to residents of the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy only. Entries received from residents of other European countries may appear on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum thread for the contest but will NOT be eligible to win a prize.
· You must agree to all the official rules and regulations.


HOW TO ENTER

· Post the exchange between the Lalafells on the Contest Entries Thread in the following format:

*Limited to one (1) entry (dialogue) per contestant.

* This is a region specific contest and users are only allowed to submit their entry to the forum associated with their registered user name.

*Normal forum rules apply to all posts within the contest thread.
* Square Enix reserves the right to judge whether or not materials submitted are appropriate for public display. Inappropriate submissions will be moderated without warning. Any entries that fall under one of the following categories will be automatically disqualified and the posts will be deleted by a moderator:

-Any posts containing obscenity, vulgarity, discrimination, or any other offensive subject matter
-Infringements upon copyright/intellectual property, personal credit, privacy, etc.
-Anything which could be considered disruptive to public order and/or morals
-Submissions with content judged to deviate excessively from the established theme


ENTRY PERIOD

SELECTION

• Winners will be selected by the Square Enix Community Team members based on humour and creativity and their decision shall be final.
  
• A total of 9 winners will be selected, the top 3 from each language thread (EN, FR and DE)

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

Winners will be announced on Monday, 27th February 2012 on the official FFXIV Forum. Once the winners are announced, our Operations Team will contact the winners and ask for their mail address and/or shipping information in order to distribute the prizes.

ELIGIBILITY

NO ADDITIONAL PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

COMPETITION IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF THE UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, SPAIN AND ITALY WHO ARE AT LEAST 13 YEARS OF AGE ON THE DATE OF ENTRY. PROOF OF AGE AND/OR RESIDENCY MAY BE REQUIRED. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO PROVIDE THE NAME AND VALID EMAIL ADDRESS OF YOUR PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. WE MAY SEND AN E-MAIL TO YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN REQUESTING CONFIRMATION THAT THEY CONSENT TO YOUR ENTRY.IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE SUCH CONFIRMATION WE MAY CHOOSE NOT TO INCLUDE YOUR ENTRY IN THE CONTEST. SQUARE ENIX WILL NOT AWARD PRIZES TO ENTRANTS WHO RESIDE OUTSIDE OF THE UK, GERMANY, FRANCE, SPAIN OR ITALY. A. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Maximum of 1 entry (comment) per contestant. All entrants must agree to these official rules in order to submit and receive any prize.

B. COMPETITION PERIOD

The Competition period is from Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 11:00 GMT toWednesday, 22nd February 2011 11:00 GMT. All entries must be received by the Closing Date to be eligible to win a prize.

C. PRIZES

Eligible entrants will be eligible to win one set of “FINAL FANTASY XIV BATTLE TRACKS" + “FINAL FANTASY XIV MOUSEPAD (Promotional material)" as the grand prize, and one FINAL FANTASY XIV MOUSEPAD (Promotional material) for two runner-up prizes. Winners will receive one of two designs, subject to availability. Prizes cannot be exchanged. Actual CDs, mousepad images, and features of the gaming-related merchandise awarded as prizes shall be selected by Square Enix in its sole discretion and may vary from photos or images shown in the Contest materials and advertising including the Square Enix web site.

Winner(s) will be announced on the official FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum and contacted via email on Monday, February 27th 2012. Prizes will be awarded after the winner(s) has been announced. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or exchanges (including for cash) of any prizes will be permitted, except that Square Enix reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize listed above. All prizes are awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

As a condition of being awarded any prize, except where prohibited by law, winner(s) may be required to provide written confirmation of their consent to the use of their name, location, likeness, and/or prize information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further permission or compensation. The use of an entry, commentary regarding an entry, timing and location of any announcement regarding the Competition or any entry, and all other matters concerning the Competition will be decided upon by Square Enix in its sole discretion. The Competition and these Competition Rules will be governed, construed, and interpreted under the laws of England and Wales. Entrants agree to be bound by these Competition Rules and by the decisions of Square Enix, which are final and binding in all respects. Square Enix reserves the right to suspend or cancel the Competition or any Entrant’s participation in the Competition should viruses, bugs, unauthorised human intervention or other causes beyond Square Enix’s control affect the administration, security or proper running of the Competition or Square Enix otherwise becomes, as determined in its sole discretion, incapable of running the Competition as planned. Entrants who violate these Competition Rules, tamper with the operation of the Competition, or engage in any conduct that is detrimental to Square Enix, the Competition or any other Entrant, in each case as determined in Square Enix’s sole discretion, are subject to disqualification from entry into the Competition.

F. FORCE MAJEURE

Square Enix reserves the right to change, suspend or cancel the competition if, in Square Enix’s sole discretion, intervening circumstances warrant such change, suspension or cancellation. Intervening circumstances include, but are not limited to strikes, labour disputes, war, insurrections, revolutions, terrorism, riots or other civil disturbances, earthquakes, fires, floods or other natural disasters, governmental restrictions, embargoes or other exercises of governmental authority, unavailability of supplies, components or material or any other cause beyond Square Enix’s control.
