Did a clean reinstall of graphic drivers which also didn't work. The crashes seem to be less frequent on dx9 with the graphics turned down to the bare minimum. High settings pretty much crash the game as soon as I zone in

I apologize for the delay in my response. Unfortunately, because the error itself is rather vague and that every computer is going to be a bit different, there is no "proper fix" for something like this. What will work for one person may not work for everyone. Because of this, we are left with some trial and error. I do apologize that there is no immediate fix.

Usually we suggest updating your graphics drivers, but for some graphics cards, it might be beneficial to revert them to an earlier version. Try doing a clean install of an older graphics driver version.

Does any part of your computer have an overclock on it?

Do you notice a pattern to it? Does this happen in any particular location or while you are doing a particular action?

I did try a clean install of older drivers too. It made no difference.

I'm not overclocking anything either and nothing is overheating.

And there isn't really a pattern to it. With the settings turned down to the bare minimum, I can sometimes do an instance or two before crashing. With high settings I crash almost as soon as I get past the initial loading screen and zone in.
It's not restricted to any zones either. I've had crashes in ARR and SB zones (not sure about HW). And I've crashed multiple times during different dungeons/trials/raids.

As a reminder, I had zero issues playing at max settings before 4.4

Good luck, for whatever reason the GM refuses to escalate the issue despite multiple people having the same problem.

I'd like to get some more information about your graphics card specifically. Can I get the full name and manufacturer of your graphics card? How long have you had this card and has it sustained any physical damage (to your knowledge)?

It also looks like there is a new driver version for your graphics card. I'd like you to try using that driver version and see if it changes anything (even if it doesn't resolve the issue completely).

Ok so update. My old graphic card appeared to be faulty but was only crashing for FF. Benchmark tools weren't having any trouble either.

Replacing the card seems to have fixed the issue of black screens at least, but the people who replaced the card said that the game still crashed a couple of times while they were testing it. So I'll test it for a couple of days and see if I have any trouble with it

I'm still not sure what was causing the issues since my old graphics card is still working fine for everything besides XIV on a different computer. But I'm not having any trouble with the new card besides some occasional stuttering so I'm done trying to troubleshoot the old one. Thanks for all your help.
