How I've longed to be with you for some time now. Upon entering the Black Shroud, I saw your laying form on the ground and helped you regain consciousnesses. We've fought in combat, if not only once. However, that was enough for me to fall in love with your shining beauty. You shined like the golden sun rising on the edge of Eorzea, and your beauty knows no bounds. I wished to share to you my feelings, however I couldn't muster the courage. But now, in this form, I feel I would be able to convey myself upon you in hopes that you feel the same. I would protect you from all harm, even the Garlean Empire would not be able to have at you with my protection. My spear will provide support in future battles, and with it it will be backed by my love for you, and hopefully your love for me. With this I will part, leaving the elementals to decide our fate together.

I again take the opportunity of dropping you a few lines in answer to your kind letters which I received a few days ago, one bearing date 3/11/30. It was a pleasure to me to have the honor to receive a letter from as charming a young girl as the one whose name was ascribed at the bottom of each of them. I was glad to hear that you were well, but I was gladder to hear you express your mind as fully as to what you have been doing while stationed. This note left me well and I truly hope that this will find you in good health. I can't say anything to you by letter more than what you have heard from my letters before. I hope the time will soon come when I get to see you again Fafana. I can write many things to you but if I could see you I could tell you more in one minute than I can write in a week. The letters that you wrote to me have warmed my very soul. I cannot wait for your return from Mor Dhona or swift victory over the Garleans. I have no reasons to doubt but if you were to fail it would break my heart, for you are the girl that I am depending upon and if it was not for you I would not be writing by my candle tonight as you wrote to me with those many malms separating us. If my courage was like yours, surely we would be united once again. Though we are far apart at present my heart is with you every moment for I often think of you when traveling the lonesome roads in Central Thanalan. The thought of your sweet smiles is all the company I have; I trust that you are sincere in what you have written to me. Your sparkling green eyes and rosy red cheeks have gained my whole affections. Hope for the time to come when we shall meet again, then we can pass off the time in pleasure. My time has come for sleep and I must soon close. As I sit here so far away from you at The Drowning Wench, my nerves getting the best of me as I shake quill in hand, I hope you remember me. Because I could never forget that warm day in Ul'dah when I visited the Pugilists' Guild looking for my next adventure; that next great battle! But instead I found you! You stole my heart when I asked you to read into my future, and I know you felt something too as you took those long pauses between words. I know you wanted to say, "I love you."

But all that you could mumble was "42." That's all you really needed to say. I knew what was meant for us as you read the star lines and birth signs. You saw in your own heart us wandering the desert, hand and hand, sharing stories and laughing it up, while we head off looking for that next great adventure.

It's funny how nervous we both were that day. We each had so much to say, but were too shy to say face to face. To be honest, that woman Qata Nelhah staring at the both us us didn't help things.
