Leap of Faith?!

I have always despised, loathed and well... every other word for it, any and all of the jumping Gates in FFXIV within the Gold Saucer. This new one, Leap of Faith is the worst of them yet. FFXIV does not have the jumping standards/measurements set correctly for these types of events. Does not matter if you use a controller or a computer keyboard/mouse. The fact is, a character almost always jumps further than the mario wannabe platforms that are set up on these Gates. Leap of Faith is an absolute nightmare. On my first run, I was going it alone and managed to eek out, in the 8 minute or so allotment of time, a not so whopping, 4000 casino gp. On run through number 2, an amazing 1000 tokens for the same amount of time, missing the inky dinky platforms and falling to the bottom of the jump run over and over and over. Note, this was with several other people doing it also, all of us slipping from the heights and flopping on the ground below repeatedly. So, instead of what had been a quick and entertaining run with Vase Off, we are now stuck with 'another' jump a thon?! Take it away and put Vase Off in the mix on a better rotation than it had. Give it the chance to come up every hour. I earned 4000 tokens with Vase Off in two to three minutes. Never was I trapped in a zone, leaping with badly measured platforms with several other people, all of us hating the event. I am not the only one ticked off by this disaster. Will anyone else speak up? Who knows, but I am. As for the other changes to the Gates, I honestly do like them. Thank you for giving people a chance to get more coin from Anyway the Wind Blows and increasing the frequency of the Gates, but for all that is Holy, make Leap of Faith a rare event and return us our Vases. I would rather dodge guards in odd hats than see Leap of Faith be spewed from the lips of one of the Gold Saucer Gate attendants. It's that or fix the jumping system in this game, as it is a far cry from Mario quality.

It's meant to be a fun side activity. People have been asking constantly for more of them since the Kugane one. It also just isn't as bad as you make it seem. Don't like it? Don't do it. Lots of others will.

I hated Vase Off with all my heart, so happy they finally got rid of this GATE.
And I actually enjoy Leap of Faith a lot.
I don't even care about the amount of MGP I earn with it or the amount I could've earned with Vase Off, I want GATEs to be fun, and VO was not fun at all, unlike LoF.

I liked Vase Off. It was easy enough to do, you could clear it fairly quick, and(this is important to me for some reason) you could teach it to someone else fairly quickly and easily. But i also like jumping puzzles like the tower climb, and my one try at LoF this morning was fine. Skinchange is the one i think used to spawn too often. The difficulty was typically fine, but any time they spawned a Roe NPC i would turn right around and leave the area. I can only sometimes tell those things apart anyway, and almost every time i tried the determining factor would be the height of the stupid thing. You know, height - something thats really tough to judge without some sort of reliable scale(which we have none of in the saucer).

Not every activity at the Gold Saucer needs to appeal to every player. If you don't enjoy it, don't do it.

I'm not fond of jumping puzzles as a rule. I tried it yesterday, thought to myself "meh" and have no plans to bother doing it again. I am still glad it's there for those players who do enjoy jumping puzzles and wouldn't care if they added more to the Gold Saucer for them. Maybe they'll stop tying the sightseeing log and paintings to them now.

I have to admit I'm confused why they removed Vase Off instead of keeping it in the rotation.

I have no intention of doing it again, but thank you for the badly executed opinion. So kind and thoughtful. I am so amazed by it. Not really in this day and age.

Never requested anything like Kugane and fun? No, not really. Vase off, clearing it quick, definitely. Some of us have jobs and value our adult time. Those of us with limited time to play this game at all.

While myself and those who really hate this Gate, 'do not have to play it" it has taken the place of another quick time Gate that paid just as much. So, even though there is an elitist sect who liked Kugane, the developers need to consider those of us who don't and never requested jumping "again" in the saucer. Downgraded cliffhanger, anyone?

Want to be fair, have fun events for everyone, throw Vase Off back into the rotation. It may actually help Leap of Faith not come up so freaking often.

Or, if not vase off, how about a racing chocobo Gate, collecting 'something' on the track? There are so many ideas that could appeal to a larger crowd.

Here is something, add more fun things to do in the Casino, such as... oh, lets see, take that Ferris wheel that is just a display and work on that idea as ride for the players. Has no point other than fun, but at least it would be fun, unlike Leap of Faith.

Anyway, this note really is to the game developers. Cater to the entire crowd, despite those judgy voices telling the rest of us, to get 'Gud' or don't play. Buy a PS4 or don't play. These are actually things being shouted to other players in FFXIV who are not happy with this event and there are many. Too bad they don't post here.

Let us know when you can find any single activity that everyone in the crowd enjoys. Until then, having activities that make some niche part of the crowd happy while other activities are intended for others is the best we're going to get. I agree removing Vase Off was dumb(why would you ever remove content? just add more new stuff), but this is seriously something that a lot of people have asked for. And while i guess this makes me "elite", the kugane peg tower isnt as hard as its made out to be. Once you learn the few(what is it, 4?) tricky jumps it has, you can reliably get to the top in under 5 mins. I know a(n insane) guy that spent the last patch only crafting from up there. Anytime he wanted to make something hed just hop on up, then jump back down when he was done.
