That's not a Tia! (moonfire spoilers)

Please tell me that the Moonfire Faire quest was written before the writers knew Miqo'te were involved. R'fuhl being a Tia while also reflecting on his family's lack of a father figure is beyond perplexing.

Unless of course, that's a nuhn lying to us as part of an elaborate ruse. I wonder...

There's a fair number of R tribe Miqo'te living in La Noscea, but we have no idea whether or not their tribe as a whole dwells there.

I'd also think it unlikely that female Miqo'te who choose to live away from their tribal community would turn away all males who aren't their tribe's nunh, since that act in itself seems to generally show a lack of concern for their tribal values. M'naago is the only Miqo'te we've seen who specifically makes it a note to keep in touch with and support her tribe, let alone mention them at all.

Point is, there is always a tribal relative such that Miqo'te just don't talk about family in the same way as those midlander types.

I'll admit that a sun-seeker caring that they "don't have a father" stuck me as odd. Even if the Nuhn who fathered him is dead, there would still be other Nuhn(s) and Tias in the tribe to be uncles/role-models. For that matter considering how a sun-seeker tribe is structured I always figured raising children is more of a communal effort. Males are rare--while a sire probably pays more attention to his male offspring and male children are probably spoiled by the tribe as a whole, a Nuhn is probably more like an uncle than what we would consider a father to most of his children (favorites like M'naago being an exception). Not to mention considering that a Nuhn has to fend off challengers to keep the role so it probably isn't that rare for them to die in challenges leaving young children behind.

Figured it was a way of just explaining things swiftly to those not in the know of the lore.

But yeah, still an odd situation.

Can always chalk it up that he might not be full Miqo in the first place. Maybe the mother married a Hyur. Or possibly the parents assimilated to another culture. I don't think it would be odd to see individuals eschew the sun cat tradition and do their own thing.

We assume that R'fuhl is a seeker of the sun, and indeed he may be as he lacks the seeker of the Moon fangs. Which could suggest that the Nuhn for his sister differs from the Nuhn who fathered him.

However, the same cannot be said for his sister, she had both the fangs of the Moon Seekers and the eyes of the Sun Seekers.
This suggests, at least to me, that she is perhaps half moon, half sun. This would certainly explain why they appear to be outside of the usual tribe conventions. But, it could also be just poor design on square enix' side.
