Game stops before cinematic when logging in.

Since the last update I have been unable to log into the game. I can boot the game up but after it displays the SE logo it just sits on a black screen. The cinematic will never play and I can not escape or get any buttons to get me to the title screen. I have rebooted computer I have updated drivers and went back 2 driver sets. I was able to play just fine before the version update. I kept trying to find a repair button as maybe something was corrupted but I can not figure it out. Please help.

I'm assuming that you are able to get past the login screen, correct? The freezing occurs after you hit the green 'Play' button?

There is no 'check files' option but have you tried reinstalling the game? Did this have any affect?

Does switching between DirectX 9 and 11 mode make any difference?

Yes. I log in hit play button and the screen comes up displays rating and SE logo. then just sits on a black screen.

Nope it does the same in other mode.

Have not done this yet I was hoping to avoid a massive reinstall, but I guess that is what I will try next.

-Update/reinstall Graphics card drivers
-Disable all programs/overlays running in the background
-Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 (right click on the exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7)
-Make sure that any anti-virus software they have has the appropriate exceptions
-Install game on C drive (The same drive as the Operating System)
-Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

None of these had any change. The error isn't coming up anymore but still will not play cinematic or make it to title screen. I have not done the full reinstall yet I am waiting for the hot fixes if they have no effect I will try a full reinstall of the game. If that doesn't work I am out of ideas.

okay new question as I can not figure it out. If i have bought all digital copies how do I do a full reinstall. I have looked on the SE store which tells me to go to mog station and on there I cant find anything to let me download game again.

Make sure to delete any remaining FFXIV files from your computer, including any potential files in your ‘Documents’ folder. Then reinstall the game from scratch. If you need a digital version of this, it can be found here: http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na/. Any updates or expansions will be downloaded to your computer once logged into the appropriate account.
