Name Change Service?

hey guys, i havent played ff14 for a few months and just now came back to check out the new battle system. any way my question is i know it was stated that when 2.0 comes out they will let us go back to char. creation and be able to change race and the look of our toons, are they goin to let us change our toons name? cuz i wanta get some the cool ifrit gear before 2.0 is out but i got 2 toons one is in the 30s and other one i just started and the higher lvl one i dont like his name any more so i hate to start over if they will ever let us either pay for a name change or get a 1 time free one any one have any info let me know thanks.

Last I heard, changing your name was still being decided, not confirmed.

As Raldo said, it's still up in the air. I think they will end up having to, though, with all the people that said they are going to switch genders having a female name on a male character and vice versa would be odd.

I think it will certainly have to happen. The most recent letter form the Producer has short paragraph on server merges.

The server merge is a temporary measure intended to help FFXIV progress. We’ll be reintroducing Worlds when the number of players demands it, and with relaunch of version 2.0.

If worlds are being reintroduced which I take to mean people have to choose their world again, then there could be mayhem with the number of identical names. So I would imagine a name change will be forced by default for everyone.

Yeah I think it will be implemented just b/c everything else will be able to be changed.

I plan to change my name also...they will have to implement it if allowing gender change.

Also yeah...SE please give us a service to allow name change! There is high demand for it =D
