    [BLOCKER] Unable to complete version update

    I logged in fine yesterday with no issues, however this morning I encountered the below problem:

    Date & Time:

    09:15am (BST)

    Frequency:

    x5 times in a row, still happening

    World name:

    Probably not relevant, but Zodiark (EU)

    Character name:

    Nemith Terrill

    Area and coordinates:

    Game Launcher, after clicking OK to the maintenance notice shown in client (see pic)

    Steps:
    1. Load FFXIV game launcher
    2. Login with username, pass and one-time password
    3. Observe maintenance notice appear
    4. Click OK to the maintenance notice
    5. Observe error "Unable to complete version update"

    Type of internet connection/provider: Fibre-150mbps/Virgin Media

    To obtain the system information, open the FFXIV launcher and select Config → System Information → Display.

    I have resolved this issue myself.

    Issue was:

    "I had changed the launcher parameters so that the launcher ALWAYS ran in Administrator mode"

    If you do the above, the error I specified above occurs. Which is odd, but still, that was the issue.

    I reverted the change and can login fine.
