Getting poetics from Wondrous Tales count against the poetic cap?

I have no idea if I'm posting this in the right place, but I've reached my poetic cap until the 20th of February. I'm really trying to finish crafting the first purple anima weapon, and I can't do that without poetics. Does getting the 500 poetics from Wondrous Tales duties count against the cap?

And while we're on the topic, why is this poetic cap a thing?

Yes if you have already maxed out your tomestones (2000) and you try to get more as the WT reward then it will be wasted as the max cannot be exceeded. It's better to get other stuff as the rewards, seeing as tomestones are so easily obtained from many things.

Yeah, but my issue isn't that I maxed out my poetics, it's just that I can't get them from duties anymore. I have to wait 135 hours. Unless it's the same deal.

There is no weekly cap on Poetics; the only weekly capped tomestone is Mendacity.

There might not be a weekly cap, yet the fact remains that I find myself having to wait 5 days to earn anymore.

Can you post some screenshot showing where you have a timer asking to wait the number of hours before you can get more? Might help clear the confusion.

The reset you're seeing there only applies to Tomestones of Mendacity (the yellow one with the "This Week" cap next to it). There is no weekly cap on anything you see in that window except Mendacity. Continue farming them to your heart's delight, it will not stop you.
