Need help changing house skin

I am having issues changing my house from a medium Shirogane Castle to a medium Riviera. We recently transferred the FC house from the Goblet to The Mist. I can apply any other full estate eg the Moogle or the Chocobo and it changes fine but i don't seem to be able to apply the the Riviera skin so that we can have the nice traditional Mist house. Any thoughts on what i am doing wrong please? I am trying to change it using the remodel exterior setting in housing settings.

Remove Shirogane Castle first, it's either all or none of it.

The normal skins require you to replace all the required parts (roof, base, windows, door) when swapping from one of the full skins.

I've done this twice now and I had to demolish the entire estate to do it.
This required removing every single piece of furniture, both outside and inside, from the house AND from your storage.
Then demolish and rebuild the type of house you want.
If there's an easier way, I couldn't find it.
Simply replacing parts (roof, base, windows, door) wouldn't work for me.

hmmmm kind of like setting it up as awhole needs to be done as a whole from work shop project. That will work as far as I know. However there are also exclusive thinks to each area so it could be restricted as well.

I just tested this and yes, replacing the 4 top pieces in the remodel exterior will swap it out from a 'whole package' housing skin. All four have to match the area the house is in (hingan for shirogane, oasis for goblet, riviera for mist and glade for lav beds) and the roof/wall have to also match the size of the house.

Thank you to all for your replies I appreciate your time. We got it sorted in the end and what i was doing wrong was not having the walls plus a window, door and roof as suggested by Dustytome. Thanks again all
