    Either SMN and RDM should lose their Raise or BLM should get a Raise.

    The current meta between casters HEAVILY prefers SMN and RDM simply because of Raise and the high pressure put on the healers. BLM now has absolutely nothing of value over SMN, even AoE damage is nearly identical.

    The Raise abilities of SMN and RDM should preferably be removed, as it's causing a major balance issue which SE seems incapable of fixing. If SMN and RDM were to keep their Raise, BLM should gain one as well. It's an awful inconsistency in the caster role, which became even more apparent when RDM appeared to have it. BLM has absolutely nothing left to give to a party after Stormblood. Even SAM has a slashing debuff which would help PLD/DRK if there's no NIN. Literally the only way to know what the BLM gives to a party is to watch the parses, which is also in a very poor state currently. We're still forced to get a lot of SpS, while all other jobs gets heavily buffed due to the extreme poor balance of Crit and Direct Hit.

    It makes more sense to remove SMN and RDMs Raise than to give BLM one, but this inconsistency needs to be resolved to make balancing the casters easier. Casters shouldn't be the ones that always use Raise in raids, especially when SMNs and RDMs MP pools are basically infinite (and remember that an infinite MP pool was one of the few exclusive advantages BLMs had).

    Or just saying they could ditch this ridiculous way of thinking that a job that offers zero utility to the group should only do a tiny bit more dmg and more often than not the same as jobs that do offer utility.

    Besides raise is niche that is very useful when progging bosses that are extremely lenient with deaths ultimate is full of party wipes anyway so that point is moot, you could say yes that before golden bahamut you can say pulls with it but then the last burn phase 1 death is mostly gg

    I've got an idea.
    How about they, you know, make BLM, Monk and SAM do SIGNIFICANTLY more damage than jobs that offers DPS.

    I'm talking 700-800 more. Not even SAM, with a 500 DPS lead compared to other melee is strong enough to be considered. You need to make them so overwhelmingly powerful by themselves that it equals the amount of power a full utility group brings.

    Or, possibly even better, make utility unique and not just another flavor of "boosts DPS".
    More stuff like Mantra, Smoke Screen less stuff like Brotherhood, Battle Litany. That way your composition doesn't boil down to "stack up whatever job brings damage up utility".

    SAM was strong enough at the start of SB but then SE started caving to buffing the others too much, SE needs to not cave so much to this tendencies if they want to have a pure / support distintion between the dps jobs, or they simply need to give support skill to everyone which honestly would lead the game to be somewhat dull (all support skills can be mathed to an average rdps power and essentially would change nothing in the end)

    I don't think you realize the greater implications of your suggestion, BLM is in a bad spot, but the solution is not to neuter the only unique utility the other casters can bring. Removing rez from SMN and RDM would just further reinforce the current meta, even for progression, considering BRD and MCH bring better raid DPS and utility than a caster if you ignore the rez. Mana Shift isn't even on the same level as Refresh, and Dismantle from MCH is generally more useful than Addle, since it works on all damage on a shorter cooldown, and even if it does only last 5 seconds, you typically use Addle for mechanics that happen in a similar timeframe.

    I'd say that atm SMN is actually closer to either of the 2 ranged in power and support combined then ppl give it credit for
