    Flawless Synthesis?

    So, I'm a little lost here. I'd like to think of myself as a reasonably high level crafter, but there's always room to learn. I've seen a number of rotations where people spam the heck out of Flawless synthesis. I cannot understand how this is remotely helpful, and why their crafting projects don't incinerate into nothingness from the durability loss. Could someone please explain this obvious thing I'm missing?

    You put up Maker's Mark first. For every type of durability/difficulty level the craft is allotted a usable stack of Flawless Synth for you to apply. When using Flawless Synth under Maker's Mark, no durability is used. (ONLY for flawless synth, not for other skills like Piece by Piece.) So you can open with Maker's Mark, put up Comfort Zone to regenerate CP, then spam Flawless Synth, reapplying Comfort Zone as necessary depending on the available stack of Flawless Synth that you can use for that particular craft. There's also variations on when you may use Piece by Piece as part of the progress during the opener, usually under a Steady Hand.

    what do you mean when you say "depending on the available stack of Flawless Synth". Is there a finite amount of this able to be used? Because I'm thinking that, if one can keep juggling comfort zone and flawless synth for no durability loss endlessly, that just sounds outrageously unbalanced, if a little awesome.

    Reduces Flawless Synthesis CP cost and durability loss to 0. Effect duration determined by current progress. Available only on the first step.
    Effect duration is determined by progress required to complete the craft, divide by 100 and round up. ex new recipes require 6377 progress, so you get free flawless for 64 steps (steps 2-65).

    O.O that seems incredibly time consuming

    It is, but when you have very expensive mats in some of the highest level crafts you are willing to take the time to spam that.

    I think Maker's Mark wears out after 60 (?) steps, but you can potentially end up with full (or nearly full) durability and CP (and nearly full progress!) at the end if you weave durability (e.g. Manipulation) and CP restoration (e.g. ToT) skills into the FS grind and get enough Good conditions. Comfort Zone doesn't depend on RNG (and is macro-able) but also doesn't restore as much CP. I've also been told that some Specialist actions are useful sometimes if you can use them.

    @Ostwar/Pondera

    Yep, it's very time consuming, but probably worth it for bootstrapping yourself into i320 gear. Also it's not drastically worse than some previous crafting trees where you'd have to synth multiple tiers of HQ materials, just a bit tedious.

    The items currently requiring the most progress to finish(something over 8300 progress) give Makers Mark a stack size of 84. And yes, it takes forever to go through if you use them all. But use a couple Piece by Piece's, a couple Comfort Zone's, take some Tricks of the Trade, maybe a Manipulation, and you can end up with the craft finished progress wise(one CS2/whatever from done) with full durability and full CP going into your quality phase(and likely with a couple dozen stacks still left on MM).
