Remove the specialist lockout on recipes

I thought with the improvement to specialist actions in 4.0 that specialists didn't need to also have specialist-only recipes to compete with omni-crafters. 4.0 also had all recipes available to anyone who had the level/stats to craft them. Why, then, was this brought back in 4.1?

I'm more upset about this than the issues around housing.

Every specialist recipe has later on been added as a general craft, so why complain now?

It's kind of half way back because you switch class with red scrips and those are uncapped now. They put a limit on 3 switches per week but you can do a lot with that, just craft all the stuff you wanna do on a class before switching. I wouldn't want to craft new stuff that often with how the materials include yellow scrip mats, aethersand and demis. By the time you really need the new gear, it won't be specialist locked any more.

That may be true of the current recipes because it is all crafting/gathering stuff meant to move us into at least 3-star at some point (plus a few housing things and such), but that won't be the case when this is the next tier of raiding gear we're talking about.

Think about it, when 4.3 drops and Omega gets more raids and the ilvl goes up, the best week one gear will be crafted in virtually every slot simply because anything with a higher ilvl will be locked behind weekly lockouts and stuff dropped by trials only covers some slots and doesn't accept overheads. With the specialist lockout, you prevent some crafters from fully participating in supply against crazy demand that will weaken quickly some weeks later meaning that prices will be insane on gear that will mostly become 'obsolete' by design several weeks into the patch they were introduced in before a following patch can remove the specialist lockout.

You can make friends with other crafters and work together. I have already crafted several pieces for friends and we have even set up business deals.

I have friends, I spend most of my time with them. They do not craft much, if at all. I do not have additional time to be chasing down "business partners" when I don't have an interst in rolling around in gil from the MB.

It's a non-issue then, if you want to be a specific Specialist and have already chosen three then save up 480 red craft scrips, pickup a Soul of the Crafter and swap out the one you want with one you don't want. The only limiting factor is your desire to save up 480 to swap out each time.

They also stack so you could in essence hold 99 and freely change as needed.

Wait, if you arent interested in rolling around in gil from the MB then why does it matter if you cant craft some of the items immediately without swapping specs?

Simple, I like to craft gear for my friends, and we do like to go raiding together. None of us roll around in gil because we find other activities to be fun. What's the point of this lockout?

If I'm not mistaken, aren't you limited to a hard cap of three switches per week? If 480 red scripts actually lets you bypass this restriction, then what's the point?

I get that specialization gives you stat/skill bonuses that would give you an advantage in HQing things with fewer steps, so I understand that the limit 3 at once restriction would be silly if you could change specialization at will to extend those bonuses basically to all crafting classes. What I don't get is why I can't choose to forego those bonuses to craft these recipes as a non-specialist.
