Unable to cast Excogitation on alliance members

Steps:
1. Attempted to cast Excogitation on a member of a different party in an alliance.
2. Got an "Invalid target" message.
3. Tried casting it on every member of bother other parties.
4 . Got the same message every time.

Excognition only affects members of your own party as it states in the skill description. Other parties in the alliance are not your own party so excognition won't work on them any more than casting protect will.

I realize that. It doesn't make sense for that to be the case though. In an alliance setting casting on people in the other parties is pretty common. Why deprive people of a potent healing tool in such cases?

This is not a bug report then. The skill does exactly what it says it will do. It is not the only skill that has the party member restriction so it is obviously an intended design decision. If you feel like the skill should be changed then I suggest you create a thread in the healer forums with the suggestion.
