The Final Fantasy XIV community is an amazing community capable of amazing things. From theatrical productions to RP story-lines that rival Eorzean lore and amazing F.C. families, but the community is lacking in tools to control its environment.
Player housing has two options. Private or public. Using F.C. and tenancy helps bridge the gap; however, this game is not a game where only a few friends may want to come and go in housing areas. Unfortunately, this means for those who are hosting great events, one single player is given the right to impede on the enjoyment and obstruct the game-play of others. This is an issue that GMs struggle with, community members struggle with, and has not been addressed appropriately yet. Having to leave a plot totally locked for the unforeseeable future is not an option.
While GMs can address griefing/harassment, it takes a certain amount of proof that's not always available and takes an immense amount of time to process often resulting in too little action too late. Additionally, the call volume for housing related incidents is something that could be freed up with a little bit of simple innovation.
I am asking on behalf of the community and the supporters found in this thread for a solution. I have provided options below, but please read through this thread for others:
1.) Introduce a feature to open up the sub-menu on a character and select an option "Remove from House" to force the target to load into your yard, effectively booting them form the house. This could easily be implemented as a private house command and as a FC rank permission.
2.) Players on your blacklist are unable to enter your Private housing, apartment, chambers, etc.
Edit: To prevent abuse of the function, it should be only an option on non-FC members and non-tenants, that way it can't be abused (i.e., keeping someone from accessing their room or FC features unfairly) and that if it needs to be used properly, you would want to FC kick or remove tenancy first, then use the option to remove them from the home.
