Anyone else feel bad when giving commendations to DPS?

So DPS do deserve commendations also.

However, lets say either the tank or the healer is bad in a party. As the other job, I would give a commendation to the DPS. Most of the time though in 4 man content, I find both DPS were equally good. I feel bad about giving a commendation to one and not the other. They both deserve it....

Good DPS makes the run go faster. Even better DPS means using mitigation tools/skills to help the party (e.g. Mana Shift as a BLM), while knowing what you're doing in your job.

I usually play healer, though, so I have more time to pay attention to who's doing what.

Same here...but as a healer I am normally watching the health bars, positioning, and AOEs instead of what is going on.

I always queue my fellow dps unless they were particularly terrible. Or if theres another Lala. Lalas always get my comms.

I will comm a sprout dps* or a fellow ROE.


*Lalafells do not get comms.

If I'm a DPS then I almost always give the commendation to the other DPS. If I'm a tank the healer gets it. If I'm a healer then the tank gets it. Exceptions are considered based on who happens to stand out the most.

If they go above and beyond what you normally expect from the dungeons, then yeah - They'll get one.
Proper AoE use on groups, the use of Goad/Mana Shift/Lucid Dreaming/Diversion in the right situations, and generally not be a pain in the ass during pulls and dodging aoe telegraphs.

After a year of playing this game, my comms just go to whoever left a good impression on me or...


whoever's hasn't left the duty after we cleared it. Especially after challenge log reset.

I have a crystal ball, so it's easy to tell which DPS deserves a comm.
