Guys the answer/fix was in the second post. Just open Internet Explorer (not Edge) even if you normally use another browser. Clear out the "Temporary Internet Files" (cache) and then just restart the game.

Yeah that doesn't work and the same problem continues on the PS4 as well.
I am having the same issue, playing on ps4. Every other game and service works. I can't even load forums or lodestone on my phone if I'm on my home wif, or on my computer. But most importantly can't get past the white screen of death when I try to load the game. Been doing it since Sunday.
I even tried making a hotspot on my phone (verizon) and could log in perfectly fine. So I called at&t (my isp) and they sent a tech out this evening. They replaced my modem/router. When I mentioned the issue I was having was with SE and FFXIV specifically, the tech said he had heard something about an issue with it the past few days & mentioned something about a port or proxy issue. Anyway he is going to look into it and let me know by Friday.
Saw people on reddit that are having the same issue as well...all At&T customers.
Oh and I too live in Los Angeles. Weird. And frustrating. Guess the next step is contacting SE

Ah that is good to know that someone at AT&T is looking into it but, Friday seems forever away now. Hopefully it gets fixed soon so those affected will be able to play again. If you don't mind LunaJoy, I am going to pass your post onto those on Reddit so, hopefully we will get some news soon!
Oh I don't mind at all! I will post the link to a Reddit post I've been talking to people on tonight.
I would think they would have to have a fix soon. Well I hope anyway. I still haven't had a chance to do rising event and if I miss it I'm going to be so sad!!!
Anyway I will update when I hear anything back. Here's the link.

Also, not to state the obvious needlessly, but I strongly advise anyone who is having this issue to contact at&t as soon as possible, as well as open a ticket with SE. The more people who report it, the faster it will get resolved!
Could be the fire caused some issues with ISP or some point between it and FFXIV where info is being routed. Maybe changing the DNS to google or another might help this?
I'm having this issue as well. I made the mistake of uninstalling and now attempting to reinstall with a bombardment of "System Error" "Version Error" and "The system is not responding" error messages while using the launcher and downloading.
I am an AT&T user as well, however I'm in Kansas not Cali. So I'm unsure if the fires would be effecting my connection any.
I've done the following things to try to resolve this, with no solution:
- Setting frontier and sqex.to as whitelist on IE and FF
- Whitelisted in AV
- Turned off Firewall, as well as turned off AV
- Restarted computer and modem
- Attempted under a new IP
- Updated all drivers
- Updated all browsers
- Run launcher in admin
- Edited launcher tool doc numbers from 0s to 1s where they were needed by countless other threads on here and reddit
- Tried safety mode on my laptop in order to build up the proper files
- Tried to use google and SAFEDNS, DNS's instead of auto detect
- Made sure IE has “ Automatically Detect Settings” checked
- IP flushed through system
- Cleaned out cookies, temp files, etc. on both FF and IE
Only things I have yet to really try:
- Starting launcher with a different ISP
- Using a VPN
- Turning phone into a hotspot
- Contacting SE and AT&T (this I plan to do soon)
Everything but FFXIV related things works. My phone won't load FFXIV forms, and has issues loading the lodestone/mogstation. I was able to log on the day before yesterday, but only after I spent nearly an hour spamming the launcher with the "system error" popping up. I however was unable to log in yesterday, which caused the uninstall.
The only thing I've been able to do is spam the launcher until it installs. Though it crashes shortly after downloading a large file.

Quoting because this is exactly what I have and have not done.I'm having this issue as well. I'm also a California user, as well as an AT&T user. I'll be spending my day contacting AT&T as well as putting in a support ticket with Square Enix.
