    4.1 Housing

All new furniture listed on one of our favorite housing sites!
(preview links for relocation & swimming added under their respective categories below)

Another Update, the Preliminary Patch notes just went up with a bit of new info as well.
Update, check here for a slew of new info (Sept 14, 2017) posted by SE. I've updated below with most of it as well.

    - New housing district: Shirogane Finally being released in 4.1!
"Sorry for the wait! It’s finally calming down, so we’ll begin the sale of plots in Shirogane along with Patch 4.1 release. Therefore, we won’t open the servers before the scheduled Patch 4.1 maintenance time (please keep this in mind)!" [source]

Plot pricing will be the same as current housing areas.
Players will be able to teleport to Shirogane without Stormblood if they are a tenant or their FC has housing there (with an aetheryte crystal of course!)
new Must have completed the main scenario quest "Not without Incident." to both get to Shirogane on your own as well as to purchase a plot there.

    mansion outside:

    mansion inside:

    - Swimming in all residential districts
Live Letter showcasing swimming in each district.
"Players will be able to swim in all the residential areas. For Limsa Lominsa there’s a beach, so not much has changed there. Shirogane was built with swimming in mind from the beginning.

We will be making changes to the maps for the Goblet and Lavender Beds. The Goblet will have a roman-style pool; imagine a pool that nobles might play in. For the Lavender Beds, we imaged a stream in the woods. We would like to introduce them in the next Letter from the Producer LIVE, covering part 2 of Patch 4.1. " [source]

    - Relocation (Moving) Feature ready
Live Letter showcasing moving between houses (store room shown too).
Available to both FCs and Personal house owners.
Will be available when Shirogane housing is purchasable.
Initiated from an available plot's placard.
Players within the house when the moving process is initiated will be teleported outside.
The cost will be the price of the plot minus 30% of the minimum value of what your current plot is worth. If you purchased at full price this means you'll be getting under 15% of what you paid towards the plot you're moving to.
Will put furniture into a "store room". Aetherytes & Chocobo Stables automatically placed. Items normally destroyed will remain intact.
new Gardens, flowerpots, wheel stands, etc will retain the items placed in them while in the store rooms, however no progression will be made while in storage.
Store rooms will allow a maximum of 400 indoor furnishings and 40 outdoor when moving, but will obey the limits of the plot size afterwards (no furniture lost, but cannot be added to until under the plot size limits).
Transfers the personal chambers, company chest, company workshop, and airship voyage status.
Zone specific exteriors will be altered to their new zone counterparts. Special exteriors (moogle, chocobo, paissa, etc) will be carried over. (no mention if size changes affect this)
new Once moved a 5 minute lock on the plot will be initiated before it can move again.
    new Apartments cannot be relocated.
new If a store room + placed furniture count exceeds the maximum store room count (400 inside, 40 outside) you will be prevented from relocating.

    - Store Rooms

Additional Storage space just for indoor/outdoor furniture.
Storage space is dependent on plot size and it will take up to the maximum number of indoor/outdoor furniture you're capable of putting in the housing space. ex: small house it can store 200 indoor items and 20 outdoor items.
Once at (or over if you moved to a smaller plot size) capacity you cannot store additional items until you have removed enough furniture from storage to be under the plot size limitations.
Furnishing normally destroyed can be placed directly to and from the store room without being obliterated.

    New Furniture!

Looks like a new tree and light being shown off there.

Dual sliding door wall, indoor tree, vase, table (with a built in open hearth?), stools, wall fan, scroll, floor lantern, new fish tank trimmings (good catch Rymm!) and the new wallpaper?

new New wall lamp, tomoto king vase, mandragora queen vase, tactiles display, couch, cupboard and what looks like maybe a dish rack/display?

new More paintings with Square new favorite color array, all sepia, all the time. Square we've talked about this, you're supposed to ban that filter from the art department.

new 4 blank partitions have been added. When selected these partitions will have the ability to add wallpaper to them. Removing the wallpaper from these partitions will destroy the wallpaper. This could get spendy quick, especially for seasonal wallpapers, so let your decorator side rejoice while your gil purse breaks out through the front door screaming.

    - Mannequins and or Weapon Racks (dragging this over to this thread so it doesn't disappear)
Some kind of method of display gear within houses confirmed for some time in the 4.x series. (link to that section of the PAX East stream.)

Yeah, that's going to be an early morning for a lot of people! I'd be interested in seeing how they tweak Lavender Beds and if they take the time to make the Goblet a little more colorful while they're doing adjustments. It's more likely they'll just update the middle to a pool, but one can hope! If anyone happened to notice any housing related images shown during the 14 hour broadcast I'd love to know the approx time it was shown to grab screenshots of'em. Watching 14 hours of something in a language I can't understand is a bit overkill for me!

I just saw early October. All the slides I snagged while I was awake: https://imgur.com/a/K30Ce

I imagine we'll get a more exact date in the next live letter that'll be mid-September according to the official translation thread.

Pro tip; unless you're absolutely set on getting a place in Shirogane, accept that you're going to be one of the 95% that miss out in the mad rush and focus instead on grabbing a plot in one of the three other wards - land is bound to open up when people move to Shirogane.

I'm not sure if anyone is even able to confirm this yet, but am I right to assume that the moving feature will apply to all houses and not only for moving to Shirogane?

To illustrate what I mean: Lets say an FC holds plot 1 in ward 1 of the Goblet and wants to move to plot 5 there, is that going to be possible? (If plot 5 is open, ofc)

I don't believe it was only to be restricted to Shirogane, just slated for release at the same time Shirogane opened up to purchases.

It will likely be for moving between all houses. I think the purpose of it is, mainly, to preserve FC airships and private chambers.

You have NO IDEA! This is AWESOME! I can't wait for this. Swimming in the Lavender Beds, in a stream in the woods. I picked the perfect place for my house!

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
