I'm a returning player, so please bare with me

I don't ever recall the effervescent item, used for crafting, to have much value. But I recently checked the market board on my server (Midgar) and its very expensive from what I remember!

What is it used for to make it so valuable?

It makes a few items. I'm assuming its more then usual cause of twin thread which is lvl 68. But I'm on midgard as well, and I've noticed lately alot of the somewhat older mats, specially between 50-60 cost more then before. I'm guessing cause as people moved on from 60-70, less gathering of older mats and people being lazy to get their own mats... So demand is higher, which raises prices.

Part of it is as Underlord said due to twinthread, but another reason is it's used in the creation of natron, which is used in the crafting of glamour items, housing furnature, and worsted thread, which is used in new stormblood glamour.

Yeah, twinthread and natron for worsted yarn. I depleted my stack and I've been going out and getting my own.
