I cant seem to get past 3rd meld.
I was using T2 > T2 >T2 > fail.. did this 3 times.
So I decided to try T1 spam but I cant even get a 2nd meld.. Failed 8 times!! at 42.5% for 2nd materia it hurts XD

i remember my 27% and doing it on first try ^^ so they upped chance now

gamblers crown would mean somewhere between 10k and 100k synths, most likely noone has done that after the patch :P

Still too hard to try, and that status which come with crown doesn't worth or encourage it at all.

I never use item that is "+1 spirit bond" because I can fill another spirit bond item in that slot and get more materia that way.

Nope its still the Same. The percentage depends on certain Values:

1. Tier ? -> Tier ? ( Different ones )
2. Inner Tier Stats
3. Materia -> Materia ( Different ones )

i.e.: While putting a STR+16 on a STR+16 is a chance of 18.00%, the chance will go down to 17.50% if you are using a STR+17. Same for different Tiers, different Materias and so on. While 3rd Materia i.e. could be a Tier III and gives you 8.80% if you put it on 2 Tier IV STR+16 and if you used STR+16, STR+17 the percentage will go down to 8.60%.

Using a lvl 48 item with T1 materia (1 stat point) and another T1 materia is 42.5%
Using one of the same stat is 40.5%

But so far i've had much better luck with T2 than with T1 even though T1 has a far superior chance.

T2x3 try to add 4th materia is 14% 5-7% for final meld
T1x3 4th should be about 20% and 10% for final meld.

hmm, guess il have to try to put a str+5 and a str+3 materia into the same item i did earlier to check. The rates sound oddly high now :P

A shame it's not retroactive. Friend of mine with a 5 Meld Coif wasn't to happy to learn she had to redo it.
