Yeah it pretty much sucks. Before this "preferred" status, there were plots everywhere. Now not a single one is left.

Wait till Kugane housing opens. Regardless of stories of some people owning multiple houses the opening up of a new housing area plus people moving to it will free up a number of plots for purchase. Just give it time.

Still think they should just add rent to housing, keep apts free but make plots like 100-200k gil a week, not too hard to make and would keep those that buy up multiple lots a bay...

There's a high chance they will eventually let those houses relinquish, which will happen after the crazy "preferred" rush, and allow only long time/continuous Mateus players a chance to get them. I really don't mind that they did that. It's not against the TOS and it's really entitled of the new transfers expecting gold strewn streets and empty wards for the taking, when they all rush over. If it was all a bunch of different transfers, I'm sure the anger would still be there, because they transferred on the illusion of everything being up for the taking and weren't given it.
