Like Father, Like Son Immortal Flames Quest

Has anyone completed this quest yet? I only ask because I wonder if there is some trick to it that I am not getting. I'm a level 40 Archer attempting this quest, and I can easily solo the first 3 Imperials. However, the Centurion shows up at the same level range, and I am fully healed and prepared to fight and it starts to go well. However, he uses his magitek ability and I activate the disruptor like the quest says but nothing seems to happen and the centurion suddenly starts hitting crits for 500hp a blow and I'm dead in seconds. It seems unrealistic for this to be a rank 40 quest if there is no trick and you are just supposed to outright outmatch this centurion. Any advice fellow flames?

45+ quest, the limsa one was crazy hard at level 42, but i were able to do it with 2 minutes left

Is it 45? It shows as 40

he is only damagable by magic at toward the end, just equip spell and ur good to go

Yeah I use the disruptor, and hit enter when he's targeted but nothing special happens, or changes. Does that defeat him or just weaken him?

Yep I went on pug and when he as at about 30% he stopped taking damage so I slipped into passive mode, set fire, and cast 2 times and he went down. Quick, easy, no use of any menu item or nothing.
