Yeah I wont be able to play anymore when I head back next week..... I was really hoping to finish SB
Im having the same problem, and I cant even write a ticket to support cause that's my only character in the game, and also cause the congestion on my world is high I cant even see where I am or anything so yeah, at least some word from SE on this would be nice.

2. Use the Instance Exit
3. Opened chat box to type, computer crashed.
4. Unable to access my character but can log on alts. Have submitted a ticket but, looking at this thread, am not holding breath.
I've gotten no response in 6 hours with 3 contact methods.... Giving up

Steps:
1. I finished the main story trial, The Pool of Tribute and tried to exit the instance.
2. My game crashed with the message "An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV"
3. Whenever I try to log in on this character, I experience the same error. I have tried DirectX 9 and 11. I have also tried using a different device to log in. Each time I have encountered the same error. I am able to log into other characters on these devices.

I don't know if this will help, it may just have been a coincidence, but perhaps worth a try. I tried to access Best Served with Cold Steel. got the inevitable "system" message, then got this error and got kicked out of the game. Tried to get back in but got that error about 6 times on the loading screen. A friend said he would try & log in for me. He got past the loading screen and into the game, but when he tried to enter the instance he then got the error & was kicked out of the game. After that he continually got the error on the loading screen.
I then tried again to log in and I got into the game, immediately moved my character to my house and I've been fine ever since. I hadn't reported the error so I doubt I was moved by a GM & I'm terrified of trying the Quest again in case it messes up, but at least I can play.
