    New to Final Fantasy and need help?

    I am new to Final Fantasy and need some help on where to find info on quests.... looted items...gathering items and what they are used for..etc;

    I recently left playing world of warcraft which I played for 12years and whenever I needed any info I always went to wowhead.com

    Does FF have something simular which I can log into ?

    I use a combination of http://xivdb.com/ (has player comments) and https://www.garlandtools.org/ (straight up info)

    Welcome!

    If you're new to the FF series in general, a good place to start from to find out about the 13 main series FF games that came before FFXIV and the many sequels, prequels, spinoffs and tie-in games as well, is the FF Wiki - FFXIV is full of references and fond fanservice injokes to the earlier FF games which can be somewhat confusing to a new person.

    For FFXIV info itself, the official FFXIV Lodestone at http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/ (for the USA) and http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/ (for EuropeUK/Rest of the world) is a very useful resource (including your character profile). For fan info sites, I personally use Gamerescape and the FFXIV Wiki. These aren't the only sites either that can be helpful, but just the ones I use.

    ShadyGrove's list is pretty good. I'd also add one more specialty site:

    for crafting: http://craftingasaservice.com/
    The only gripe I have with that site is how prominently it shows something it calls "crafting calculator" which is a relatively useless make-one-of-every-item thing, while its most helpful feature is comparatively hidden. The site's real benefit involves adding recipes you want to make to your Crafting List (which you can do from either the Equipment Profiler or the Recipe Book sections), and then going to that list and having it show you all the materials you'll need to get or make and where to get everything.
