This may be an unpopular opinion but it was recently brought to my attention that there are actually so many "dead"/very low populated servers out there that have so many plots available. Ex.: Mateus, Goblet, Zalera etc.
Why doesn't SE impose a transfer limit to ridiculously overcrowded servers? For example, once a server hits a certain amount of characters, no one is allowed to transfer. Unless characters are deleted or transferred out and the character limit isn't at its limit. If people were just flat out prohibited from transferring to Balmung it would help the overpopulation and housing crisis. Yes, I know we have the character creation restriction which is always on.
Some may argue "but what about my RP community? What if I don't want to live on a dead server?" Well if people actually started transferring to these servers and populating them it wouldn't be dead and it would be just as lively as any other server.
Others may argue that this would only help solve the housing crisis temporarily. Yes... But so many people would finally be able to get a home for the time being. The people who complain about not being able to get a house on Balmung/Gilgamesh can finally get one and wouldn't have to dish out ungodly amounts of gils to pay someone to relinquish theirs. Once all the underpopulated servers are full THEN we can talk about adding more wards.
I'm pretty sure SE is fully aware that there are servers out there with soooo many plots available and that's why they haven't added more wards other than it costing resources.
So I say either SE imposes a transfer/character limit or lets people transfer out for free or something. A free transfer and a high chance at a home would be good incentive I think.
