    Someone please explain

Since 2 days I'm playing the Feast.
Many times I see a marked player. I guess it's the player who carries the most medals.
Now, I'm going to attack this marked player. But nobody from my group is doing it.
I'm getting killed by the opponents and loose my medals.
So, what's the point of marking a player and not attacking him?
    Do I misunderstand something?

Anyone could have marked that player, it might have been the healer for all you know, they tend to have the most spatial awareness due to the nature of their role.

There's nothing much they can actually do by themselves after that though, it's on the dps and the tanks to follow up - and since you can't talk in Feast now you just have to hope people pay attention to the marker as a 'suggestion'.

Most of the time DPS classes were marked.
Yeah, I've noticed that the chat does not work. Didn't know that fact. I wanted to ask that question in chat but couldn't.

Usually I mark dps when they have off kit/1+stacks/blood for blood/he's bursting/that dps too effective he must die or we die lol

If you're talking about 8v8 and no one follow the mark, just look up who has stacks and focus him

On a side note. The Loading screen when the fight is over is annoying.

This is yet another reason why removing chat is such a terrible idea in Feast.

Marked targets most often denote a priority targets to attack; HOWEVER, there could also be marked just to make it easier to keep tabs on them during the match. This is especially useful to healers, because it makes it easier for them to see when an enemy target is gunning for them. 8v8, in particular, can get kind of cluttered, so it helps clear up where everyone is. In 4v4, a marked target is almost always a priority target for a number of reasons (high stacks, high threat, healer shut down, no defensive buff, shut down offensive buff, etc). In 8v8, it could be a kill order, or it could just be a way of putting some order to the chaos. In an ideal world, the person marking could use chat to explain their thinking. If FFxiv, you just have to guess because chat is supposedly evil.

yeah, someone might be marking them up so they get focused, but in a pug it doesn't mean ppl will "follow"
