Regarding Linkshell features,

I am sure some of this was meant to be addressed eventually (or may have already been discussed, but I didn't notice it in a quick glance at the In Dev forum), but where are all the Linkshell features?

A few months back when the game began I started a linkshell and gained 75~ members. At first things were very busy, but as the game's "new" wore off a few members left here and there and people that did stick around weren't signing on as often. Due to this, several other members became depressed and started crying "dead shell" every time they looked at the member list (which I couldn't clean up). After discussing with the remaining members what they would like to do, several requested forums, a site, Vent/TS3, etc. All of this was done, but letting all linkshell members know the information was a huge challenge as there is no method of communicating with members who aren't online at the time.

So after thinking about it for awhile (and thinking back to FFXI and Aion), I came up with this list of needed/wanted features. Please correct me if any of this has changed recently, I have taken a 2 month break.

  1. The ability to remove members at any time or location;
    • This one is huge. All linkshells are going to need a good pruning of dead members from time to time, or may have issues that require a troublesome member be removed. Requiring the user to be online and within target range makes removing users a hassle at best, or at worst impossible.
  2. a method of communication with all members regardless of online status;
    • I started to just say "Linkshell Message" or "Linkshell Topic" that displays when someone equips the shell or signs in, but with users having multiple shells equipped at once this doesn't seem like a very elegant solution. Perhaps a built in "Linkshell Notices" area where administrators can post updates that players can check in-game from time to time.
  3. and the ability to easily communicate to all shells equipped.
    • I'm really surprised you can't use /l1, /l2, etc to communicate to your various shells. As it is now, unless you want to flop your active shell back and forth, if someone sends you a message in one of your linkshells you have to reply back in /tell. This is annoying as you have to type the command, and annoying for other people in the shell as they see a one sided conversation.

Thank you.
