    It's a little disheartening to see that a number of the entries thus far would fail to qualify based on syllable count.

    I understand that if multiple entries are posted, only the first will be accepted, but what if the first is judged to not fit the theme? Will the next one then be considered (and so on)?

    I was curious because basically I was unsure whether the haiku I want to submit fits the theme closely enough, and in case it doesn't I do have a few backups that I would like to use rather than not submitting anything.
