    Archers Rejoce!:We Survived

    I've taken the liberty of breaking down the class revisions chart into layman's terms. As you can see, some abilities didn't make the cut, but for the most part the revisions aren't as big as the other classes. This is only so people can get a better grasp on what to expect out of the class, as the chart takes a bit of deciphering to put name to face.

    -There are several notes saying if an ability has been revised or completely new to the class.
    -/ <---- everything after this indicates the effects of a combo.

    ARC

    Auto-Attack

    Ability 1-Hawkeye
    Ability 2-Quelling Strike+increase TP (Revised)
    Ability 3-Decoy
    Ability 4-Chameleon

    We don't even know how this situation works yet. If the buff takes 5ish seconds to go off and lasts for 5ish minutes, you should be more than able to deal damage before you even have to worry about reapplying buffs. Corsair was capable of doing this on XI. I hardly doubt they'd implement it in a way where they expect you to run around buffing your party every couple seconds, completely negating the DD revisions they're implementing for the class.

    I have a slightly different opinion on the abilities.

    Ability 1-Still Precision (Revised) (notice that the description is "Increases accuracy" and not "Increases accuracy of next attack")
    Ability 2-Quelling Strike+increase TP
    Ability 3-Decoy
    Ability 4-Chameleon
    Ability 5-Trifurcate (small difference, but Multishot can stack with itself; this ability does not indicate so)
    Ability 6-Raging Strike (Revised) (note that this is not a WS, but an attack buff)

    Magic 1- Chocobo Mazurka (Quickstride did not fade upon sustaining damage)

    Weapon Skill 1- Shrieker (basically, a single-target single-hit WS with no additional effects; Puncture is not single-target)
    ->Weapon Skill 2- Trammel

    I agree with the rest of your assessment, though.

    Yeah. I've sit out of Ifrit Runs because i rather play archer than a lancer. Hopefully with the new class reforms, we're able to be useful at least in parties. Because although everyone would probably want a Bard in their party, Bard is not till 1.21 which is a long long way away.

    Pray that archers become decent DDs again once 1.20 is released. It would seem from the notes that we have gained significant aoe damage?

    (Also the concept write up that archers are capable of dealing burst of damage hopefully means that we're able to do some spike damage at least.)
