If old content is dead , then whats the issue with a jump potion?

I have joined in arguments on the topic of jump potions and at first I was totally agaisnt it. Simply because the whole time I've been playing this game less than prob 4 months I've been told to come to hw. I see it all the time in my four link shells and novice network, if someone even wanted to take 6 months to do the old content they would be considered different. You can hardly even get a reasonable que for old content, don't even try to do an extreme primal or old raid haha good luck. And when I bring it up here are to others I'm always told just come to hw. So what would be the issue with a jump potion then, players don't really care enough about the old content to even make it relevant for newer players. Wt only means lets run this old content unsync so I can met the requirement I have. So the game is about current content and what a jump potion would do is put everyone on the same playing field. Ive been so agaisnt it but the more feedback I get why not?

Reading the forums I see so many opposed to the idea like I was, but I dont think anyone sees the struggle of coming in late to the game either. Like nobody is concerned about if you happened to wana take just as long as other players did to get to hw. Its pretty much do it now are dont complain so Id like legitimate reasons on why their shouldnt be one if alot of people want everyone on the same place in the game

This is actually reason.. the "same place in the game" is not only have current content unlocked it is also "has taken time to learn how to play their job". That said, the jump potions will not be to max level so IMHO people will have time to learn.. but that is the objection for alot/most.

edit: As someone said in one of your other threads.. the topics are not really relevant to new players and would be more appropriately posted on the General Forums.

There is no legit reason to not have level potions. As you said, it allows players to be on the same playing field as other, more seasoned players. People worry about the degradation of player competence but I am not worried about it. I normally have to queue up with under-achievers on a daily basis to get my daily expert bonus and complete my weekly Alex normal and weeping city clears. My only saving grace is my savage static that loves to wipe 8 times on A11s but one shot a12s lol.

And bswpayton, I've said this before in your other thread, utilize party finder instead of duty finder to do things sync'd. In the description, ensure that potential party members know it is sync'd. Your server may surprise you with people joining for laughs and the experience. Though I wouldn't hold your breathe cause even PF could take a long time to fill.

Ive tried, an this post isnt really just about me really, Im speaking of everyone that I have heard say that they have to get to hw , like its a mandate instead of just playing the game. I read and have talks on it all the time. So my question was if the player base wants everyone at the most current level of the game then , what is their reasoning behind not wanting jump potions. Because if I felt as if the player base wanted no jump potions they would be more than willin to allow players to learn but its not the case Ive seen so many people leave duties time and time again. And Im just sayin you cant have both if ur afraid players want learn how to play and you cant take an extra 10 or 20 mins to give them that chance then dont complain about people that may wana skip the content.

    Two reasons usually given:

    1) Most argue that such boosts create level-cap-noobs who don't know how to play their class .. largely a vacuous argument as there are level cap noobs who got carried through content already, and in any case in this game many classes change playstyle radically at level 60 and you need more than basic level 60 gear to take part in any content when 'knowing how to play' actually matters.

    2) Some think that getting to level cap is some sort of badge of merit that they can flaunt over the noobs.

Im on board if it brings in more money to the game that maybe they will use wisely. The players cant complain if they dont acknowledge that they treat the newest stuff like its the only stuff in the game, so if its treated as so then lets go ahead and put everyone there. This game isnt treated as a whole game it is only about whats the latest content and you need to get there fast and thats what a skip potion will do.

I feel it is more the number two. If you want to learn and improve at your job anyone and I literally mean anyone can google, youtube, or simply ask other players the optimal rotation of the job. It's players who want to feel they have accomplished something that the beginning players haven't thus making themselves feel better in a sort of selfish way. Its stupid.

No amount of leveling potions will teach people how to be a better player.

If they do add jump potions I swear to god I better not see topics about an increase of bad people in the duty finder.
